This year’s theme, Supporting Native Boys & Young Men of Color, brings together incredible speakers, youth voices, Tribal and community partners, educators, and service providers for three days of learning, connection, and culturally grounded conversations about supporting our young people.

Two Feathers invites you to join tribal leaders, mental health professionals, educators, advocates, families, and youth for a conference focused on advancing mental health and wellness among Native American youth, with special attention to Native young men and boys. Through culturally grounded dialogue, shared experiences, and evidence-informed practices, participants will explore strategies to strengthen self-determination, cultivate positive cultural identity, support emotional well-being, and promote healing. Together, we will build on the strengths of Native communities to create pathways toward healthier futures for the next generation.

On April 15, 2026, our Youth Ambassadors proudly showcased their completed project, “Healing He-We-Chek’: I Survive: A Day of Intergenerational Sharing.”

Held at Sue-Meg State Park, this special gathering brought together Native elders, youth, families, and community members for a meaningful day of sharing stories, songs, ceremony, food, and cultural traditions.

Our Youth Ambassadors poured their hearts into documenting this experience and honoring the knowledge shared across generations. ❤️

We are proud to share the final product of this beautiful event, brought together through stories, photos, reflections, and so much more.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible and to all who shared their time, wisdom, and stories with our youth. 🌿🪶

To our Hoopa neighbors, we’re thinking of you ❤️

We know the fire and heavy smoke are taking a toll. If you’d like to get away for a few hours, we invite you to come spend some time in Eureka. From now through the weekend, Hoopa residents can show an ID with a Hoopa address at each location to enjoy:

🐻 Sequoia Park Zoo - Free admission. Up to four children may accompany each adult with a Hoopa ID.
⛴️ Madaket Bay Cruise - Complimentary rides with a Hoopa ID. Space is limited, so please call 707-445-1910 to reserve your spot.
🎨 Morris Graves Museum of Art - Free admission, plus two special events on Sunday:
Mini Masters, 8/16,12 - 2 pm - Story time, games, art activities, and a free book for families.
W**e & Jazz, 8/16, 3 - 5 pm - Live music featuring Francis Vanek with the RLA Trio.
🎉 Friday Night Market – Friday from 5:30 - 8:30 pm in Old Town. No ID required for this event.

We hope these activities offer a little respite and a chance to enjoy some clearer air.

Last Tuesday our youth ambassadors spent their last wellness workshop learning teachings first hand from elders of the community about topics such as:

❤️ Sobriety

🌱 Community

In thanks for their gift of knowledge and in honor of their presence, our Senior Youth Ambassadors along with some of our Youth Ambassadors prepared necklaces that were presented to the following:

Andrew (Slim) Whipple Sr, Andrew (Cisco) Whipple Jr, Rose Hernandez, Ted Hernandez, Lisa Sunberg, Gusto Bowie, Leo Carpenter and Yvonne Ferris.

We recognize the impact of positive role models and elder presence in youth’s lives when it comes to wellness. To help model these teachings our ambassadors prepared a tree to represent the seeds we need to grow and the strength we obtain from our community.🌲🌎❤️

🎬 Check out this incredible short film created by our youth during last week's Two Feathers Native Youth Film Camp!

Featuring local artist Lewis Scott and his powerful new song, "Puliklah," this project gave our youth hands-on experience in storytelling, cinematography, directing, and editing while collaborating with a talented Native musician from our community.

A huge thank you to Lewis Scott for trusting our youth with his music and partnering with us on this special project. His generosity gave our young filmmakers an unforgettable opportunity to learn, create, and tell stories through film.

This is just the beginning! Over the coming months, these young filmmakers will continue creating original films, and we can't wait to celebrate their work at the Two Feathers Youth Film Festival this fall.

🎬 Lights, camera, action! 🎥

What an incredible two days at the Two Feathers Native Youth Film Lab Story Camp!

Sixteen Native youth came together to explore the power of storytelling through film, learning the foundations of filmmaking while sharing their own voices, creativity, and culture.

A huge thank you to Native filmmaker Steve Knox for sharing his knowledge, creativity, and passion with our youth. Your mentorship inspired the next generation of Indigenous storytellers and filmmakers.

A special thank you to Lewis Scott for allowing our youth to collaborate and create a music video inspired by his new song, "Puliklah." We are honored to work alongside you and are excited for our youth to bring your powerful music to life through film.

We are also incredibly grateful to Tre Borden Co. for their creative partnership and support in bringing this vision to life, and to the James Irvine Foundation for making this opportunity possible through their generous support.

This is just the beginning! Over the coming weeks, these young filmmakers will continue developing their skills, collaborate with Native filmmakers, and create original short films that will be showcased at our community film festival later this year.

We are so excited to watch these stories come to life and celebrate the powerful voices of Native youth.
