Summer day camp in McCalla, Alabama on the beautiful campus of Grace Life’s Shadow Lake

10/29/2026

We have had so many solid staff members over the summers. Blake has been a part of CSL since middle school serving on our Duct Tape Team (many others have this story as well). Returning campers have looked forward to hanging out with Blake every summer and always ask if he is coming back to work. We want to share with you some key things he did as he worked.
Blake always tried to intentionally get to know the campers on his team. He was honest when he needed some new ideas or support in classroom management. He knew when to be fun/silly and when to be serious! He showed commitment to the calling.

If you work at Camp Shadow Lake you will have an opportunity to be a leader in many campers lives. The time you spend with them can make a lasting positive impact.

We have to have a solid team to run Camp Shadow Lake. Our staff is held to a high standard and we want our employees to be committed to work with excellence all summer. The greatest responsibility you will ever assume is caring for someone else’s child. We have a lot of fun and we build a family bond, but most of all we work to the glory of God.

“Your kingdom come, Your will be done.”
Since the beginning of CSL opening and now with five summers behind us we have desired to follow Jesus every step of the way. We want what God wants for the ministry of Camp Shadow Lake! Pray with us to see His guiding hand clearly. 🙏

If your child is missing the things we do together at Camp: praying, studying the Bible, and intentional connecting, there is an opportunity for them to have those experiences again! Priority Kids Clubs are starting back. If you want more info please message us! 🙏❤️📖

We missed our campers! We missed the high fives. We missed reading the Bible with you. We missed swimming and boating. We missed playing games with you. We missed Gaga ball competitions. We missed making crafts with you. We missed fishing with you. We missed worshipping with you. We missed your faces and we missed caring for you!
