We are a group of blacksmiths that get together once a month to lie to each other about the size of our forges and collectively hit our thumbs with hammers.... feel free to join us anytime! We meet the 1st Saturday of each month at the Bell Barn in Tannehill State Park. t. Open to anyone 16 and up (12 with an adult) interested in the art of blacksmithing or metalwork in general. 1st meeting is come one come all, 2nd and subsequent meetings you must be a member of the Alabama Forge Council (www.alaforge.org) for insurance purposes.

Please join us for our annual Christmas party on Saturday December 6th. We have an awesome demonstrator for the morning. Glenn Reese has been a full time farrier since 2004. He is a member of the American farriers Association. He took up blacksmithing as a hobby and will be demonstrating farrier style tongs at the meeting.

The demo will be first from 9-12, then we will have a pot luck Christmas feast and finally iron in the hat.

Please bring an cool item to donate for iron in the hat and please sign up to bring with you a covered dish (including the food) to share from a list below. This worked very well last year. (A couple years ago we had like 30 deserts and 1 side… kids enjoyed it😜)

Join us on Saturday 7th June to see Jeff Mosley’s demonstration of how to make a copper pencil cup…enough materials/tools for some people to make their own. Well worth it! I made one in 2022 with my daughter and we learned numerous new skills and had a blast.
