Matthew 14:22-33

I think we often focus on Peter walking on the water as the pivotal moment in this passage (among many). But, we can’t forget that Peter’s first move was to get out of the boat… is Jesus calling you to get out of the boat (to trust Him… to put your faith into action…)? Step 1… get out of the boat.

Matthew 14:13-21

Just a one-liner for today… Give what you have to Jesus and watch Him multiply it.

Matthew 13:18-23

I said with yesterday’s passage that it could be uncomfortable. In this passage, Jesus explains the parable from verses 1-9. Jesus’ explanation speaks for itself.

Again … May we receive God’s word… and may it produce much in our lives.

Matthew 13:1-9

This is a portion of scripture that can be uncomfortable. Nonetheless, it is God’s word. May our hearts be “good soil” … May we receive God’s word… and may it produce much in our lives.

Matthew 12:46-50

Last week, my message was on how we need to lean on our families. I closed the service out by talking about how some of us have different family dynamics than others. At a minimum, we are, as the church, brothers and sisters; we are family. Jesus was making the same statement in this passage.

Matthew 12:38-42

These folks were wanting to see a sign. Jesus, standing right in front of them, was (and is) the greatest sign. Maybe it’s time to quit looking for a sign and to start looking to Jesus. He is the “something greater.”

Matthew 12:33-37

There are several “more popular” sayings of Jesus in this passage. It’s hard to pick one to focus on. But… “a tree is known by its fruit” is hard to pass up. I can tell people that the tree in my front yard is an apple tree. But when they see oranges on it… they are going to know the truth. In the same way, our Christian walks produce fruit… and we are known by it. Louder than our words is the fruit on our branches.
