Our Interact crew had a great turnout for their first fundraiser of the school year!

Thank you to Corrigan Oil Speedway for choosing to partner with local clubs for post-race cleanup as a way to fundraise! As a direct result of this partnership, our new high school Interact club now has some money in the bank so they can start giving back to our community through different service projects.

This student led club formed in late February of this year, creating and adopting their own bylaws and constitution, as well as recruiting their own members. Since then they have managed to participate in one international service project, 3 local service projects, created and planned one local service project of their own, and assisted in multiple community events. That’s not even counting the 7 racetrack clean ups and the “Nerf Gun Challenge” they hosted during our golf outing to raise funds for future projects they want to plan.

This group is already making a huge difference ~ I can’t wait to see where this school year will take them!

Today we had the privilege of participating in Mason Cares. A chance to give back to first responders by cleaning the firehouse and washing and waxing the fire trucks and police cars. Even some of our Interact kids were able to help out. Afterward, some of us were able to attend the 9/11 memorial service. It was an honor to have our District Governor and Foundation Chair, Tim and Amy Lee AmyandTim Lee join us. Rotary District 6360 Michigan USA Mason Rotary Club
