Berkeley County 4-H STEM Berkeley County West Virginia 4-H STEM. We are dedicated to providing opportunities for members to participate in STEM activities. Robotics, rocketry, etc

Located in Martinsburg, WV, the Berkeley County 4-H STEM Program is an after school community program with multiple team awards in robotics, rocketry, and public speaking. Membership is offered to West Virginia Residents in grades three to twelve. The 4-H STEM Program promotes an applied sciences concept through Positive Youth Self Directed Development or “Learn by Doing”. This club helps to teach

students how to collaborate to solve problems, communicate results through a variety of online mediums and apply individual creativity and critical thinking skills, all of which are important skills for success in business. Club members participate in Robotics Design and Programming, Quad-Copter Engineering, Rocketry Development, 3D Design, and Printer Maintenance, as well as general Astronomy, and compete with First Lego League, Team America Rocketry Challenge, and regional SUMO Bot Challenges.

JP is a member of the WV state award-winning team LEGO Immersion! JP is very smart and excels at coding. We are very excited to watch him learn and grow and see all his team will accomplish this season! We are so glad that he has chosen our 4-H Club! 🍀 We hope he has the best birthday! 🎉

For our Monthly club meeting last night, we saw near record attendance with more than 40 local youth members. After learning the science behind how a soap bubble forms and sustains it shape, the members were challenged to create their own "wand" out of provided materials, and took to the parking lot to test their creations. Designs were refined, techniques were practiced and shared, and they had amazing success. Thank you to all who attended, the club volunteers who helped guide them through the activity, and families that brought your team members. We are excited to have so many enthusiastic kids participating, and look forward to an amazing year. Keep an eye out for an additional post with some video.
