Community Arts Foundation

Community Arts Foundation Producing, promoting and sponsoring community events that inspire the artist in you since 1988. Proud to call Marion, KY our home.

All inquiries about Fohs Hall rentals should be directed to Elliot West at 270-965-2056. Recognizing that the arts are much more than crafts, a ballet, or a symphony, the Community Arts Foundation (CAF) intends that its projects include many types of art-related activities for all kinds of people. Indeed, CAF is an arts education program designed cooperatively between the school system and the co

mmunity to promote an appreciation of and an involvement with the arts, including special emphasis on meeting the cultural needs of a cross-section of the community. The arts can allow all people to express themselves by developing special talents, to become more aware of themselves and their feelings, to become more sure of themselves, as well as becoming aware of their potential, to more effectively and positively communicate with others, and to develop better attitudes toward the quality of life that the community offers. Community Arts Foundation in Marion, Kentucky has a stated purpose to encourage an appreciation of the arts and to motivate an active involvement with the arts by the people of Marion and Crittenden County. This is accomplished by offering these individuals convincing and wide ranging experiences with the arts, varying from dance and drama to crafts and photography. Relative to this, CAF promotes the ongoing development of a strong arts curriculum within the schools and a structured means for coordinating and utilizing community resources, as well as its most important resource – the people – in developing a lasting arts program.

Band kids… it’s time for a reunion!

As part of Legacy of Liberty: 250th Anniversary Celebration, we’re working to assemble a Community Band under the direction of Crittenden County Schools Band Director Isaac Carter, and we want musicians from across the area to be part of it.

Whether you still play every week or haven’t opened your instrument case in years, this is your invitation.

The Community Band will perform during Legacy of Liberty on June 26–27, 2026 in Marion, Kentucky, as part of this once-in-a-generation America250 celebration.

This opportunity is open to musicians of all ages and is not limited to Crittenden County residents, so tag your former bandmates, share this post, and help us spread the word.

Interest numbers will help determine whether we are able to successfully assemble the band, so if you’d like to participate, sign up today.

Over the last five years, Katie Beth James has been part of some really special moments on the CAF stage. She’s grown alongside this program and helped shape it along the way.

🥖 The Baker’s Wife – Into the Woods Jr. 2022
📚 Belle – Beauty and the Beast Jr. 2023
🍎 Miss Honey – Matilda Jr. 2024
🎶 Marian the Librarian – The Music Man Jr. 2025
❄️ Queen Iduna – Frozen Jr. 2026

Today, we honored Katie Beth with a silver cord and charm at graduation in recognition of participating in our Spring Youth Musical every year of her high school career.

During the closing of Frozen Jr., Director Corey Crider shared a few words (paraphrased) that really summed it up best:

“For getting us through the woods, we thank you. For transforming a beast by teaching him love, we thank you. For standing up to our Trunchbulls, we thank you. For being our librarian, always a book in hand, we thank you. For going on an adventure to try to save us, we thank you.

We had five. We want more. We had fun. Now it’s done, but begun. It takes you.”

Katie Beth, thank you for giving these shows your talent and passion. We cannot wait to see where your next act leads.

We Need You!!

Help us make America 250: Legacy of Liberty an amazing festival for our community!

Events like this don’t come together without people willing to step in and help where needed. We’re looking for volunteers to work the information hub, hand out free water, check in on vendors and reenactors, move chairs, help with setup, and handle all kinds of other tasks throughout the day.

There are jobs for people who like to stay moving and jobs for those who would rather sit and help guests as they come through. Whether you can give an hour or the whole day, we’d love to have you involved.

Show your volunteerism. Show your patriotism. Help us create a great event for Marion and everyone coming to celebrate with us.
