Check out this event in Houston!

The Houston Start Anew Clinic will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the South Texas College of Law Houston (1303 San Jacinto St., Houston, TX 77002). Please join us at any time between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

The Houston Start Anew Clinic will be offering the following services, at no cost to attendees:

Financial health and resume/interviewing workshops
Expungement, vacatur, and sealing consultations
Landlord/tenant dispute and housing legal aid clinic
Debtor’s rights legal aid clinic
Family law and domestic violence legal aid clinic
Estate planning and probate legal aid clinic
Voter’s registration and election guide materials
Stress management resources
Job fair

We are so proud of everyone who showed up, leaned in, and took another step toward growing in their faith, purpose, and work.

A special thank you to Pastor Ed Fleming for faithfully teaching and investing in each person through this class. Your wisdom, encouragement, and heart for people are making a difference!

We are incredibly grateful to partner with STCH Ministries and Daily Bread Ministries to make opportunities like this possible. When the body of Christ comes together, we can do so much more than we could ever do alone. ❤️

This is about more than a class. It’s about equipping people, strengthening families, and helping our community discover the purpose God has for their lives.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped us move the Diaper Day Bank and other goods out of The Mountain Warehouse!

Thank you to Lara, Jerome and Russell from the Manvel Lions Club, and Levi for jumping in and helping us get it done. We are moving into a larger space so we can continue growing and better serve our partners and community.

A HUGE shoutout to Harbinger Freight for helping make this next step possible, and to Leonard, who manages the property we have called home for the last couple of years. We are so grateful for your support!

We are grateful for people who love Jesus and love people every day. Thank you to Jill from Archangels, Martin and Kim Dale from Montrose Street Reach, and Rochelle from Manvel PD. It's always encouraging to see what so many people and organizations are doing to care for our community.

As we continue highlighting the churches and ministries God is bringing into the Daily Bread network, we shift our focus to the Houston area where we’re excited to introduce you to another one of our newest Ministry Partners.

Last August, we launched the Mountain Food Bank, with our very first pantry partner being our very own food pantry, The Well. Our goal is to bring more nutritious food into Brazoria County while collaborating with local organizations and providing education that strengthens our community.

We’re so grateful for all the hard work, dedication, and collaboration that has gone into making this vision a reality. 👏👏👏

Faith & Finance is coming this September!

The Mountain is grateful to partner with STCH Ministries to offer classes that provide practical tools while encouraging individuals and families in our community.

Faith & Finance is a 10-week course focused on biblical principles about money and God’s plan for our finances. Instructor and Pastor Ed Fleming will lead participants through practical lessons designed to help build a stronger financial foundation.

📅 Begins: Thursday, September 17
⏰ Time: 6:30 PM
📍 Location: 6900 Masters Rd., Upstairs, Manvel
👧 Childcare: Available for children in 1st grade and up
🥫 Food: Each participant will receive a box of food after every class, generously provided by Daily Bread Ministries.

There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.

A huge thank you to Daily Bread Ministries for partnering with The Mountain to provide food for our upcoming classes!

Our next round of classes begins in mid-September and will include Faith & Finance and Job Readiness. We love being able to offer practical tools that help people move forward, and because of this partnership, every person who attends a class will also leave with a box of food for their family.

Keep an eye out for class dates and registration information coming soon!

And a huge shoutout to Attack Poverty and Shannon for helping us load everything yesterday. We are so grateful for organizations and people who are willing to come alongside us and serve our community.
