Today, The Well celebrated our one-year anniversary, and our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for everything God has allowed us to accomplish together during this first year.

The Well has grown to become so much more than a food pantry. It is a place of hope, compassion, prayer, and community, a place where individuals and families facing food insecurity can come and receive nutritious food while being treated with dignity, kindness, and love.

Over the past year, through the dedication of our incredible volunteers and the generosity of our community, The Well has served more than 16,000 families, welcomed over 2,400 volunteer servants, and distributed nearly one million pounds of nutritious food to our neighbors in need. What an incredible blessing!

Today was another wonderful example of that mission in action. 46 amazing volunteers served 315 families, helping provide them with nutritious food for the remainder of the week.

None of what we have accomplished would have been possible without our faithful community partners:

Chick-fil-A Pearland
Chick-fil-A Shadow Creek
Chick-fil-A South Fork
Dollar General Rosharon
Dollar General Arcola
LongHorn Steakhouse Pearland
Manvel Lions Club
Walmart Alvin
Little Rascals Child Care
Kroger Friendswood

Thank you to each of you for believing in the mission of The Well and for your continued generosity and support. Your contributions are making a real difference in the lives of families throughout our community.

A special thank-you to Mr. and Mrs. Davis for your generous donation of nonperishable food items. Every item donated helps us keep our shelves stocked and provides much-needed groceries to families.

We are also grateful to Leena from Divine Veggies Cottage LLC for generously providing several hot meals for our guests. Thank you for sharing your delicious food and your heart for our community. Please visit their page and support this wonderful local business by ordering some of their delicious meals and snacks.

A huge thank-you to Judy Jacobs for her generous monetary donation. Your support helps us fill our shelves and continue the fight against hunger and food insecurity in our community.

And a heartfelt thank-you to Pastor Jason and The Church on MastersRoad for providing a delicious anniversary luncheon and, most importantly, for the tremendous love and support you continue to pour into The Well and its mission.

This first year has not been without challenges, but through every challenge, God has remained faithful. Time and again, He has provided the volunteers, food, resources, partners, and support needed to continue serving our neighbors.

As we begin our second year, we move forward with faith, gratitude, and excitement for what God has in store. We believe there are many more families to serve, lives to touch, and opportunities to share hope with our community.

To every volunteer, donor, church, business, and community partner who has walked alongside us during this first year, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You are an important part of The Well family, and we could not do this without you.

The best is yet to come!

To God be the glory!

This week, I’d like to take a moment to highlight some of the extraordinary volunteers who help make The Well Food Pantry such a special and efficient place to serve our community.

Sandy Killian, Jackie Osina, and Marie Huerta each play an important role every Monday and Tuesday. These incredible ladies bring their own unique gifts, skills, and talents to The Well. What makes them even more remarkable is their willingness and ability to step into one another’s roles whenever needed. Their teamwork, leadership, and dedication help keep our pantry running smoothly and ensure that our guests are served with dignity and care.

And then there’s Gomer Huerta, a retired police officer who faithfully manages our parking lot and drive-through line. Whether the Texas heat is blazing or the rain is pouring, Gomer never complains. He is always outside making sure vehicles are lined up properly, traffic continues moving, and our guests get through the drive-through safely and efficiently.

I am extremely proud of these leaders and the way they continually step up to serve others. Sandy, Jackie, Marie, and Gomer, your commitment, dedication, and service do not go unnoticed. Thank you for everything you do. You are truly appreciated!

Today at The Well, 82 faithful servants came together to serve 336 families, providing nutritious food to help carry them through the remainder of the week. Thank you to every volunteer who gave their time and energy to serve our community. You are truly the hands and feet of Jesus!

A very special thank-you to Michael and Kayla Barton of Barton Bread and Butter for generously donating desserts for our volunteers. Everyone enjoyed them and couldn’t stop talking about how delicious they were! Thank you for thinking of our hardworking volunteers and blessing them with such a wonderful treat.

We would also like to give a huge shout-out to our faithful weekly business and community contributors:

• Chick-fil-A Pearland
• Chick-fil-A Shadow Creek
• Chick-fil-A South Fork
• Manvel Lions Club
• LongHorn Steakhouse Pearland
• Walmart Alvin
• Dollar General Rosharon
• Dollar General Arcola
• Little Rascals Day Care

Your continued support and generosity make a tremendous difference as we work together to fight food insecurity in our community. Thank you for standing alongside The Well and the families we serve.

May everyone have a wonderful, safe, and blessed week!

Monday at The Well is always a busy day as we prepare for Tuesday’s food distribution. With many of our regular volunteers away on vacation or tending to personal matters, I found myself without the extra help needed to organize the pantry and pick up food donations.

That’s when Jaden Lee and Bob Thomas stepped in without hesitation. Jaden traveled to several of our community partners, loading our box truck with generous food donations. Bob worked tirelessly at the church, helping organize our operations and unload the truck when it returned. Thank you both for your willingness to serve and for your hard work in helping provide for families in need. Your dedication truly made a difference.

I’d also like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Jim Davis for their generous donation of several nonperishable food items. Your kindness and compassion are sincerely appreciated.

A special thank you to Best Buy for their generous monetary donation to The Well. Your support allows us to purchase much-needed food and keep our pantry shelves stocked for the families we serve.

We are also grateful to Leena from Divine Veggies Cottage LLC for stopping by with several freshly prepared meals for our guests. Thank you, Leena, for your thoughtfulness and generosity.

A huge shout-out goes to our incredible 50 volunteers, who came together to serve 338 families with nutritious food to help sustain them throughout the week. Your servant hearts, dedication, and compassion continue to make a lasting impact in our community. Thank you for all that you do!

Finally, we want to recognize our faithful weekly community partners. Your continued support and generosity make it possible for us to serve those facing food insecurity each week. We are truly grateful for each of you.

I would like to recognize one of our extraordinary volunteers from Redeemer Church, Clara Dominguez. Clara faithfully volunteers on Mondays, helping us prepare for Tuesday’s food distribution. When a family emergency arose, Clara stepped up without hesitation, took the lead, and helped organize and guide our volunteers to make sure everything was ready for distribution. Her leadership, knowledge, and willingness to serve truly made a difference.

Thank you, Clara, for stepping up when we needed you and for your dedication to serving others. We are incredibly grateful for you!

We were also tremendously blessed by the Redeemer Kids and Redeemer Students Ministry, who donated an incredible 1,203 pounds of non-perishable food items to The Well! Thank you, Redeemer Church, for your continued partnership, generosity, and support of our mission to serve families in our community.

Today, we also had the privilege of welcoming students from First Baptist Church in Frisco, Texas. These amazing students demonstrated the love of Jesus through their service to our guests. Some helped families carry groceries to their vehicles, while others served at our vegetable, dry goods, and household-item tables. Our volunteers truly enjoyed serving alongside you. Thank you for your hard work, kindness, and hospitality toward every guest who came through our doors.

Throughout the day, 87 dedicated volunteers worked together to serve 325 families, providing eggs, milk, vegetables, fruit, bread, desserts, and other essential food items. What an incredible day of service and community!

We would also like to welcome and thank our newest community partner, Little Rascals Daycare, for generously donating several gallons of milk to The Well. We are grateful for your support! A special thank-you also goes to Melissa Lopes for her generous contributions.

It was a busy, but very productive day at The Well despite the heavy rain. Our 87 dedicated volunteers braved the inclement weather, using their talents, gifts, and skills to serve 320 families with enough food to help supplement their needs for the rest of the week.

A special thank you to one of our amazing volunteers, Kat Ducommun, for preparing a delicious homemade lunch for our team. Whenever her busy work schedule allows, Kat faithfully blesses our volunteers by either serving alongside us or sharing her incredible cooking. Thank you, Kat, for the wonderful meal. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it was!

We were also blessed by the generosity of Sheryl and Harold Travis, who drove across town to purchase and donate 340 pounds of nonperishable food items, including canned vegetables, tuna, rice, cereal, pasta, spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, pancake mix, syrup, soup, and coffee. Thank you both for your kindness and generous hearts. Your donation will make a real difference for the families we serve.

A huge shout-out to Ashley for her generous monetary donation to The Well. Your support will help us purchase additional food to keep our pantry shelves stocked and continue serving those in need.
