I want to apologize to anyone who messaged me and/or commented with questions regarding Wednesday's severe weather potential. I promise you I didn't intentionally ignore everyone. Thankfully the hot button question was answered by the best case scenario for OUR area. Central Illinois... Not so much. But couldn't been far worse. I'm one man running a page with literally 10's of thousands of people. And I work a full-time job during the day. So I promise I didn't ignore all of you. I know we're now a couple of days removed from Wednesday. But figured I'd take a moment. I promise I didn't do it to blow you off or leave you on read!

Regarding Sunday's storm potential for our area...
I'm not seeing it. Once again, ongoing convection lingering well into the afternoon hours will keep our air stabilized. There's no justifiable reason to be concerned at this point. Models keep the warm front to our south as it is. Southern Illinois and maybe up to the very far Southern portions of Central Illinois will have the best chance for severe weather potential. I think our biggest & only concern is flash flooding. As we've dealt with wave after wave after wave (no pun intended) of heavy rainfall.

One thing I've learned about social media, especially being a public figure. ESPECIALLY running a weather page, some will cherry pick certain lines. They will see what they want to see. They will yell that you're wrong, they'll railroad you for your "mistakes", even if you covered EVERY SINGLE ANGLE, EXPLICITLY. They'll nitpick ANYTHING for a headline. They'll leave out those parts. They'll look for the part of what you say was wrong and they'll run with it. They'll call it a crying wolf. But we've been BATTERED with severe weather. March 10th needs no introduction. Last Thursday, I tracked a tornado that was headed straight for portions of Kankakee County. Illinois leads the whole damn world in tornadoes this year. We're going to break a single year state record for tornadoes this year. Cry wolf, you say? A far cry from the truth. I don't take this responsibility lightly one bit. I'm not a professional. I'll never claim to be one. But you know what? The professionals at one point in their lives, also weren't professionals. Read the room, and it's pretty clear that I must be doing SOMETHING right. So write whatever headlines you want. You're entitled to opinions. But NOT facts. Talking to some, is like talking to a brick wall.
