Most people never say this out loud. Shawn Serfass did.

Behind the addiction, the dealing, the lifestyle, was something much simpler. A kid who just needed to feel like he mattered.
And that’s the part nobody talks about. Not the behavior. The wound underneath it.

Because when no one has taught you what belonging actually feels like, you’ll find it anywhere you can. Even if it costs you everything.

 — Destructive behavior is almost never about the behavior itself
 — Identity and belonging are needs, not weaknesses
— When a child grows up without someone consistently telling them they matter, they will find someone who will

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and this week, we’re not staying silent.
