Memorial Day is also Black history!
Along with the history of many people of color in America.
From honoring fallen Union soldiers in 1865 to generations of Black, Latino, Native, and Asian American service members fighting for freedoms they themselves were not always fully given, their sacrifice has always been part of America’s story.
Today, we remember them!

In response to the recent activity this week, The KSU YDSA has invited us to help create a safe, supportive space for students and faculty to debrief, reflect, and be heard.

“Putting Unity in Community” is an opportunity to share experiences, process emotions, and access guidance and resources from campus leadership and community voices.

Through open conversation and team-building, we aim to strengthen our community and remind one another that unity matters more than hatred more than ever.

Community doesn’t stop at city limits!

As the Manhattan Branch of the NAACP, we believe in showing up; not just for our city, but for our neighbors as well.

Junction City is right next door, and when they gather to uplift voices, we stand with them. Supporting each other across communities is how we build real progress.

Let’s continue to bridge the gap, stay connected, and move forward together.

Pull up, be present, and represent!

The countdown is on!

This Saturday, April 18, 2026, we will gather for the Kansas African American Affairs Commission Congressional District 2 Community Town Hall right here in Junction City.

This town hall is a space for listening, learning, and lifting up the voices of our community. We want to hear directly from residents about priorities, concerns, solutions, and what matters most for District 2.

🚪 Doors Open: 10:30 AM

The Easter celebration is a cherished tradition in our community, embodying the virtues of hope, courage, and faith. These qualities inspire our ongoing advocacy for a better future for people of color. As we commemorate this season, we remain committed to our mission, believing in transformative change despite challenges. The NAACP Manhattan Branch extends wishes for good health and healing, encouraging a renewed sense of purpose for our nation. In solidarity, we embrace these principles in our continued fight for justice.
