Connecting USHearts Around the World 🌎

Ava's Voice is the home of three direct programs for children with Usher syndrome:
1. discUSH: supports families of children birth to 10 years, this includes but not limited to, in person retreats and virtual calls to connect families within the Usher syndrome community.
2. USHangouts: provides an opportunity for youth with Usher syndrome (birth-17 years)

to make connections with their peers at the USH Connections Conference hosted by the Usher Syndrome Coalition. Programs are designed specifically for two age groups, USHlittles (birth-7) and USHyouth (8-17). Mentor and role model opportunities are available for adults with Usher syndrome (ages 18+)
3. USHthis Summer Youth Camp: is a week long experience for youth with Usher syndrome (ages 11-17) to have a traditional camp experience with their peers. Mentors are individual with Usher syndrome (ages 18-26) and we also have role models and staff with Usher syndrome (26+)

Founded in the United States of America, Ava’s Voice, collaborates with international organizations to implement the USHthis Summer Camp model to meet the needs of their local USH community.

💁🏻‍♀️Meet Mia! She is a second year mentor. Mia was a first time camper in 2024

💜Since then she has graduated high school, is enrolled at Unitech Training Academy pursuing a career as a Dental Assistant, and started her own nonprofit called Mia's USH Mission that partners with Ava’s Voice to support the USHthis program

🫶🏼The TRUTH? Connections change everything. Mia encourages youth in her local community to attend camp and makes them comfortable every step of the way
