November Meeting - "Show and Tell"

November 2, 2026, at 6pm the Hot Spring County Historical Society will meet at “The Heritage House” located at 118 West 2nd St., Malvern. During the business portion of the meeting we will vote on 2027 Officers. Afterward, we will have “Show and Tell." Everyone in attendance is asked to bring an item from the past to “show” to the others and to briefly “tell” about the object and its history if known. These meetings are always lots of fun; you just never know what might be presented! YOU are invited to attend, please come & bring a friend.

Thank you everyone who came to the HSCHS meeting last evening (October 5, 2026). And thank you Mayor Weldon for inviting our meeting to be held prior to the city council meeting. Kinney Black's presentation on Samuel Henry Emerson was very good. He also included some information on Samuel's father Samuel Alexander Emerson. Reminder

Good afternoon,

We will have our October 5th meeting tonight at 6pm at the Police Department at 110 North Main, (the former Fred's location). Kinney Black will give a presentation on the Malvern leader from the past, Samuel H. Emerson (1846 - 1920). Mr. Emerson was the first mayor of Malvern. Our business part of the meeting will be short. In addition to our attendees, Kinney's presentation will also be before the Malvern City Council. Hope you can attend and as always, bring a friend or two!

Scott Strauss will be our guest Speaker tonight at 6, at 118 West Second Street. He will share information and pictures of the Adalbert Strauss family along with information about the Malvern Lumber Company. We hope YOU can attend and of course, Bring a friend!

The HSCHS will meet on Monday, August 3, at 6pm. Our speaker will be Jean Harper. Jean will be sharing information about her ancestors who were early residents and leaders of HSC. She will tell of Colonel Daniel Morrison and his wife, Arabella "Belle" McLean and their life on Morrison Plantation. Please share this information with friends and invite them to come hear and learn about this interesting history of HSC.
