🔥 FIRST WEEK at Maiden Elementary!🦅💙

We are IGNITING EXCELLENCE and welcomed 600+ students—both new and returning—with smiling faces, excitement, and so much energy! Our first week was all about building relationships, establishing expectations, and creating a strong foundation for a successful school year.

What a GREAT start to the 2026–2027 school year! We are so proud of our Maiden Eagles and can’t wait to see all that this year holds! 🦅✨

As we welcome a new school year, the Maiden Police Department’s School Resource Officers would like to wish all of our students, families, teachers, and staff a happy, safe, and successful school year!

🦅 Welcome to the Nest, Abby Hudgens! 🦅

Please join us in giving a warm Maiden Elementary welcome to Mrs. Abby Hudgens, our new ESL Teacher!

Mrs. Hudgens is entering her 14th year as an ESL teacher and her 3rd year with Catawba County Schools. In addition to joining our Eagle family, she also serves as the ESL teacher at Startown Elementary. She brings a wealth of experience and a passion for supporting multilingual learners as they grow in confidence, build connections, and find success in the classroom. 🌎📚

Mrs. Hudgens met her husband, Brock, while attending UNC Charlotte, and they will celebrate 10 years of marriage this October! They have two children, Hank, who recently turned 7, and Poppy, who is turning 5. ❤️

Outside of school, Mrs. Hudgens enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, cooking, and exercising.

We are so excited to have Mrs. Hudgens join the Maiden Elementary family and can't wait for our students, staff, and families to get to know her!

🦅 Welcome to the Nest, Cynthia Goins! 🦅

Please join us in giving a warm Maiden Elementary welcome to Mrs. Cynthia Goins, our newest Kindergarten Teacher!

Mrs. Goins is entering her 19th year in education and believes teaching is more than a profession—it’s a calling and a special opportunity to nurture young hearts and minds. ❤️

In her kindergarten classroom, Mrs. Goins strives to create a loving, peaceful, and encouraging environment where every child feels important, supported, and free to grow. She believes each child is uniquely gifted and loves inspiring curiosity, building confidence, and sparking a love of learning from the very beginning. One of her greatest joys is watching little minds and hearts grow and celebrating every victory—big and small! 🌟📚

Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Goins loves spending long days reading at the beach or relaxing by the pool. She also enjoys adventures with her husband and three grandchildren. Her faith is an important part of her life, and she enjoys participating in mission trips with her church around the world.

We are excited for the love, experience, and encouragement Mrs. Goins will bring to our youngest Eagles. We know she will make a wonderful addition to the Maiden Elementary family!
