What a wonderful first year on Main Street! We love seeing local businesses grow and thrive, and we're excited to celebrate this milestone with the Clear Creek Creations team!

It's a beautiful day to spend in downtown Madison!

There's plenty happening downtown today, Saturday, October 10!

MACC: Soup Stew Chili & Brew Festival | 11am – 5 pm

Head downtown for one of Madison's favorite fall traditions! Enjoy delicious soups, stews, chili, live music, local shopping, and more. Admission is free, with tickets available to purchase food and drinks.

Madison Farmers Market | 9am – Noon

Don't forget, the Farmers Market has officially switched to its fall hours! Stop by Lytle Park on West Street between Main and Third Streets from 9am to noon to shop fresh produce, baked goods, and other locally made favorites.

With today's festival taking place on Main Street, please plan for downtown road closures and allow a little extra time for parking and getting around.

Make a day of it! Start your morning at the Farmers Market, then head downtown to enjoy Soup, Stew, Chili & Brew and support our local businesses.

MACC: Soup Stew Chili & Brew Festival

Every community has a table. Ours stretches the length of Main Street.

And on October 10, we’re setting a place for you.

As autumn settles over the Ohio Valley, mornings turn crisp and the hills surrounding Madison begin trading their summer green for brushstrokes of gold, orange and crimson.
Downtown, pots begin to simmer.

Musicians tune their instruments. Tents rise along the street. Friends and neighbors arrive carrying crockpots, recipes, signs and supplies. Before long, the unmistakable aromas of soups, stews and chilis begin drifting from block to block.
And for one October day, Main Street becomes our table.

Everyone is invited to pull up a chair.
Now in its 24th year, Soup, Stew, Chili & Brew has become one of Madison’s great autumn traditions. Presented by Ivy Tech Madison and hosted by the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, the festival returns Saturday, October 10, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., as it does every year on the second Saturday of October.

Business Spotlight!
When Quenton Owens was young, he brought his dad to school to talk about his career. At a loss for words to explain what it was Chris Owens did for a living, young Quenton introduced him as a “chefferguy.” Of course, it became a family joke.

Fast forward several years and now you’ll find Chris and Quenton working side by side in the family business, Chefferguys Restaurant and Catering (). The business also employs the two men’s wives, Sandy Owens and Kamryn Owens, to cover the front of the house. Various other family members work as needed. Non-family members Matthew “Meatball” Disch and Stephanie Cranford have also joined the team.

After several years providing food elsewhere, Chefferguys opened its doors at 843 W. Main St. on Sept. 3. They have moved into the building that Horst’s Little Bakery Haus had occupied.

“Catering was the plan all along,” said Chris Owens, even when they were operating a food truck at Riverboat Inn for several seasons. In order to prepare large catering orders, the family owns a commercial kitchen in a converted home on West Second St. “The catering has just exploded,” he added.
