THANK YOU, BRITTANY!

This Friday, we will say goodbye to Brittany, who has been part of the Madison Main Street Program and Madison Farmers Market team since January 2024. From the moment she stepped into her role as Market Manager, Brittany quickly became a vibrant and familiar presence on Saturday mornings. With her passion for farm life and dedication to supporting local growers and makers, she brought energy and creativity to the market each week. She loved learning from vendors just as much as she loved connecting the community to everything the market had to offer through her engaging social media posts!

We are so grateful for the kindness and care that Brittany brought to the Madison Farmers Market and in the Madison Main Street office. While we will miss seeing her each week, we know the friendships and memories she created withing our program will last for years to come (and we have a feeling she won’t be able to stay too far away from market🙂)!

We wish Brittany nothing but the very best on her next adventure!

This past Saturday, the Madison Farmers Market set up on the north lawn of the Lanier Mansion State Historic Site serving as the temporary location for the month of May. Even with a few rain showers, our wonderful vendors were so excited to welcome guests and offer fresh produce, plant starters, jellies and jams, baked goods, flowers, and more!

Our friends at Trinity United Methodist Church joined us to hand out water bottles and shared updates on the church. Jefferson County Public Library - Madison and Hanover also set up, hosting a fun tissue bouquet craft for visitors!

We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this Madison Farmers Market such a wonderful experience, and we look forward to many more summer markets, rain or shine!

The Farmers Market may be on the move over the next few months, so please watch for updates on Facebook!

On Saturday, we celebrated the life of Tom Moriarity, an important figure not only in our community, but in communities across the country. Tom was one of the founders of the Main Street Movement, serving as one of the original program directors of the Main Street pilot project in our beloved Madison in 1977. His hard work and love for historic communities helped shape what is now a nationwide program guiding downtown revitalization efforts across America.

His passion for historic preservation and community development inspired, and will continue to inspire, generations to come. We are so thankful for the love he had for Madison and grateful for the opportunity to come together to honor and remember his life and legacy. A plaque was placed in his honor on Broadway as a lasting tribute to his impact on our community and beyond!

Our hearts remain with everyone impacted by this tragedy. We appreciate your flexibility and look forward to continuing to support our local vendors and community in this temporary location!

The community experienced a heartbreaking tragedy on May 11, 2026, when the beloved Trinity United Methodist Church caught fire. This beautiful and historic church watches over downtown with its iconic steeple and the sense of community it creates.

Madison came together to collect dresses from Love Betty Bridal and bring them to safety. Analog Coffee & Records opened its doors to responders for refreshments and restrooms, while Troublemakers Food Truck LLC prepared fresh food for those working through the night to keep our community safe.

We want to thank the firefighters, first responders, police officers, and all those who acted quickly and courageously to protect our community and do all they could to save Trinity.

Our hearts go out to all who were affected, from those who call Trinity their home to the surrounding neighborhoods and businesses, and everyone who cherishes the memories and history of our beautiful Madison.
