Saturday we hosted the “Paint Like Harlan” workshop, led by the inspiring Tracy Barnes to a full house! Not only did she teach us how to paint with watercolors in the style of Harlan Hubbard, she also wove in many interesting stories about Payne Hollow, both Anna and Harlan, epic paddling trips, and finding Anna’s cello. We learned about books we should read, how to build Harlan’s watercolor palette, and adventures taken in search of locations he painted…we were delighted!
Everyone went home with a cool copy of a Harlan watercolor, a color wheel, info about the Payne Hollow on the Ohio non-profit, invitations to visit the magical home of Harlan and Anna, and so much more!!
Thanks so much to Tracy Barnes for a thorough investigation of this topic, and sharing it with so much thoughtful enthusiasm! We would be thrilled to have her lead another workshop soon. And thank you to our curious and creative community members who came to support this unique experience and make some art in the process! Arts here now!
