☀️ As the days get hotter with the approach of summer, it’s the perfect time to refresh our heat safety habits. ☀️
Heat stress isn’t just about temperature—it’s about workload, humidity, recovery, hydration, and recognizing subtle warning signs before they become emergencies.
A few reminders:
🐴 Monitor humidity, not just the thermometer.
💧 Keep hydration and electrolytes consistent—not just after heavy work.
🌅 Adjust workload and ride during cooler parts of the day.
🚿 Cool with purpose and allow for gradual recovery.
👀 Know your horse’s normal behavior so you’ll recognize when something isn’t right.
Smart care today protects performance tomorrow—and could save a life.
Stay safe, stay cool, and know that HEART is always standing ready whenever and wherever horses need us most. ❤️
