At South County Fire, we’re honored to serve and support the LGBTQ+ community. Not just this month, but every time we answer the call.

This month, we're sharing the voices of LGBTQ+ firefighters and allies who reflect on what Pride means to them. Their stories remind us that different perspectives make us a stronger department – helping us support one another and better connect with the people we serve, especially in moments when compassion, understanding, and care matter most.

Participants will learn about career opportunities in the fire service, the hiring process, testing requirements, interview preparation, and what it takes to succeed in the profession.

South County Union Firefighters, Local 1828 is providing a scholarship for those who may be looking to enter into the field of EMS or fire service.

Great question by a young future firefighter that stopped by for a station visit.

🚨 We primarily use those two methods as our sirens. The pull chord is an air horn horn that is used mostly while approaching and driving through to give additional audible warnings.
The foot pedal is what we refer to as a federal and that is consisently on while driving to to emergencies.

⚠️Good reminder to pull to the right if you hear any type of siren and be cautious driving through intersections as well.

Always a fun time to have some future Firefighters stop by for a station visit. They were loaded with a ton of great questions.

Thanks to South County Fire and our Community Outreach team for the help in providing some fire education to our youth.

Rise above the silence and create a culture where it's okay to talk about our mental health!
are prone to higher risk of mental health disorders due to our work. Let's continue to take away the negative stigma that talking about it use to have. Reach out to your family and friends and lets check on each other.

You may notice that our crews have matching pink bracelets. The fire service will always stand in solidarity and support with each other. These bracelets have the inscription, "In Loving Memory of Nora."

Thank you to those who have shown support along the way for two of our members who are still grieving an unthinkable loss.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

South County Firefighters have some incredible women on our team and today, we want to take a moment to celebrate those who not only excel on the job but excel as mothers!

Thank you for sacrificing bedtime stories with your children for showing up to serve the community. Many firefighters following in their parents profession, the fire service is no different. We are proud to have our first mother and son duo both working at South County Fire.

To all the moms in our community, thank you for the time and effort you put in to raising your children every day. Today is YOUR day!
