Congratulations to AJ Johnson, he was elected by local union leaders as Washington State Council of Fire Fighters 6th District Rep.

AJ is no stranger to standing with unions and fighting for better working conditions. He has held executive board titles within his union since 2008 and been the state legislative liaison since 2018.

Local 1828 is proud to have one of our members represented at the state level. His reputation has gained him full support with his new role.

You may have seen some of our members out in the Edmonds area sign waiving in support of a Yes vote for Proposition 1.

We're advocating for Prop 1 for the following reason.
-To keep up with the area growing demand by adding 4 stations to our response area.
-Replace 6 aging fire stations that have safety and health factors attached to them.
-Renovate many stations that were deemed to need seismic upgrades to allow for continued emergency services during an earthquake.
-Upgrade administrative support facilities that support emergency response and readiness.

Love that we get to work with great people who go above and beyond. The awesome crew out of station 20 in Edmonds, assisted an elderly man who fell off a ladder. Luckily no serious injuries occurred.

The crew went beyond the call and finished the pruning job to avoid the elderly man having to get back on the ladder. Stellar job by the crew down at station 20 and way to look out for your community, possible preventing another emergency!
