Very special thanks to Amy Micke and the team at Forrest Run Pet Cemetery & Cremation Service. Although we have worked with others over the years, no one can compare to the authentic and sincere level of service we receive from their team. No matter the day or time... or my level of sanity, Amy is always there to welcome us with open (and loving) arms.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!! We are gearin’ up for one of our favorite summer fundraisers… it’s the 50/50 raffle at Luxy Raceway!! 🎟️

This will be year three for us, and every year we have the best time! It’s a fun, family night to get out and enjoy some Friday Night racin’!!! 🏁

We’re looking for volunteers to join the fun… it’s just a few hours of ticket selling; no experience required! We’ll be at the raceway on Friday, June 26 from 5pm - 9pm. If you’re able to join us (or just give a few hours), please drop a comment below, send a PM or call/text me at 920-229-3770 to sign up!

Last night we celebrated yet another beautiful summer evening with the Casco Comets from Kewaunee County 4-H, WI! They hosted their meeting here in our gathering area followed by a tour, animal meet greets and an ice cream social!

Many of the kids (and several parents, as well) have visited The Wish in the past, but we also had the opportunity to make a lot of new friends, too!! Hearing the laughter of children as they run about the farm and make new friends fills our hearts like none other. Oh… and fills our families’ bellies with animal crackers too, of course!! Although most of them are “farm kids”, it’s wonderful to see their genuine curiosity and care for our furry family, being that many of them are differently abled. Knowing they all took home just a bit more knowledge, understanding and empathy is truly the mission on which we’re built.

In addition to the kids (who were all wonderful), the parents were also so engaged. Taking a genuine interest in our work and offering insight and assistance to improve the quality of life for our animals here at The Wish. “The more you know… “

As we were wrapping up the evening, one boy approached me and asked…

“So, how many animals have you saved so far?”

I started stating that the sanctuary is home to just over 60 animals and then realized that wasn’t what he asked. My eyes almost teared up when I realized that answer is well into the hundreds by now… but truly, it’s still not enough.

And, so … another day is upon us. A day of hope and of healing; another opportunity for a beautiful day at …

We had a pretty special visitor on Sunday!!! The one and only frankie_the_chihuahua1 stopped by with his Mom and Dad to drop off some super cool enrichment toys for our canine crew!

We had so much fun showing them around… as you can see, Frankie was quite curious about all of his friends!

We appreciate the shout out on his page… Be sure to check him out if you haven’t!!! He’s a super cool dude, and we’d gladly welcome him (and his Mom and Dad) back anytime!

Hey y’all! Last year we added a grass seed mixture to the existing alfalfa in our field with plans to put the animals out on pasture for the summer.

However, as you can see, the first crop has grown quite well… and much more quickly than we could get the pasture fencing completed. Soooo…. We are looking for someone locally who’d be willing to cut, and HOPEFULLY, bale these couple of acres for us.

We cannot put the animals out in this lush growth, so we’re hoping someone is able to cut (and bale) what we have, so it doesn’t go to waste. And…. Then we can finish the fencing and move the crew out to greener pastures in the coming weeks.

Anyone know of anyone??? We’d gladly compensate for their time as we know how busy everyone is this time of year!!! Feel free to share this post, send a PM and/or text/call me at 930-229-3770.
