Update on our Campsites!
After evaluating campsite usage over the past several years as well listening to feedback from unit leadership, a team of volunteers from our Dan Beard Council Camping and Outdoor Program, Program and Properties Committees made the decision to change the way that 3 of our Camp Friedlander campsites are used for summer camp (and year-round usage).
Campsites Matin, Friendship and Krieg will become BYOT or Bring Your Own Tents for summer camp. Many of our current users of these campsites during the summer are already setting up their own tents rather than using the provided canvas tents/cots/mattresses anyway. We will now remove that equipment that takes up valuable flat areas for year-round camping which will be a great benefit to campers from August - May who aren't using the platforms/tents anyway.
Many thanks to all those providing feedback and working to improve our campsites!

An important tradition for our staff is making an end-of-season slideshow with all the highlights of their summer shenanigans. From pranking the Camp Director to celebrating Christmas in July, there's so much fun that goes on behind the scenes.

Camp Freilander delivered an extraordinary adventure, thanks to the remarkable staff who collaborated seamlessly with our scouts and empowered our leaders, fostering an unforgettable experience.

Our heartfelt appreciation extends to our scouts and leaders too for their invaluable contributions to making this week at camp truly unforgettable.

Another year in the books, and we could not be happier with the outcome. Average close to 7 MB per scout and one scout earned CAMPER rank in the CAMPCRAFTER guild.
