ETMHD is a small rescue made up of volunteers who want to make a big difference in the lives of small equines. Our mission is three fold:

To be a safety net for miniature horses, donkeys and mules that are at risk of being homeless or going to auction. To educate potential adopters and mini owners of the care and needs of these little equines.

😂 When you find the PERFECT scratching post…

Wade discovered a little sapling that was just right for scratching that hard-to-reach spot on his chest—and judging by this video, he was having the time of his life. 😂🌳🐴

Wade and his best buddy, Stubben, are still looking for their forever family together. ❤️ These boys are SO sweet, well behaved, and just an all-around wonderful pair.

We call them our “seniors” because they’re 19 years old, but don’t let that number fool you! Miniature horses can live well into their 30s with good care, so these handsome guys could have many happy years ahead of them. 🥰

They've spent their lives together, and now we'd love to see them spend their next chapter being spoiled by a family of their own.

That face when the morning mash hits just right. 😋😂

Beatrice was licking her lips after breakfast this morning, and we’re pretty sure that’s a five-star review! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our sweet little senior girl is continuing to get stronger, enjoy her meals, and show us more of that sweet-and-spicy personality every day. 💜

❤️ Beatrice Update! ❤️

Our little Beatrice is getting stronger! Yesterday she gave us a HUGE reason to celebrate when she got up completely on her own! 🎉

Today she needed a little help getting to her feet again, but that’s okay—we know recovery isn’t always a straight line. The really good news is that she is eating like a CHAMP! ❤️

She’s also been enjoying some time out of her stall and apparently decided she needed to inspect the facilities. Her first destination? The volunteer break room. 😂

We were really hoping she might wander into the office next and clean up the disaster still left over from our last event…but apparently she’s decided that’s outside her job description. 🤣 She’s still a little too tired for actual labor.

For a tiny senior donkey who recently weighed just 140 pounds when she should be closer to 200–225, every good meal, every little adventure, and especially every attempt to get herself up is progress.

Keep going, Beatrice. One day at a time, sweet girl. ❤️🫏

🐴 **RESCUE ME FRIDAY — Rescue doesn’t stop once they arrive.** 💜

Yesterday was a big day for **Foxy!** Our handsome young jack was officially castrated. He’ll remain under medical care for the next few weeks while he heals, and then we’ll begin working toward the next chapter we’ve been waiting for — **finding his forever home!** 🏡

Foxy wasn’t the only one getting veterinary care. We also completed testing, vaccinations, and other needed medical care for several of our newer arrivals.

Taking an animal into rescue is just the beginning.

Every new arrival needs evaluation, vaccinations, testing, dental and hoof care, medications, procedures like Foxy’s castration, and sometimes much more. **Rescue doesn’t stop once they arrive — that’s when the real work begins.**

This **Rescue Me Friday**, we could really use some help covering our growing veterinary bills. Even a small donation helps us continue saying **YES** when a little life needs us.

🐴 Tiny minis. BIG personalities. Looking for ONE forever home! ❤️

Coco Butter is the tiniest mini at the rescue and a senior—but he certainly doesn’t act like it! 😂 This little guy wants ALL the attention and plans to make sure he gets it.

His buddy Mr. Bo, around 8 years old, is the quieter half. He’s sweet, a little shy, and would love someone who will give him some special one-on-one attention. 🥰

🏡 BEATRICE IS COMING HOME! 🫏💜

Look at that face! 😂 Beatrice may not look particularly impressed about her discharge from UT Large Animal Hospital, but at least they sent her home with a cute little bow! 🎀

After several days of supportive care, our tiny senior girl is on her way back to the rescue tonight. When Beatrice arrived at UT, she weighed just 140 pounds, when she should be closer to 200–225 pounds. She was weak, had very little appetite, and needed help getting to her feet.

We're so thankful that she's improved enough to come home. ❤️ Now we're hoping and praying she continues to eat, gain strength, and make progress once she's settled back in.

Her journey isn't over yet, and we'll be watching her very closely. But tonight, we're celebrating a pretty big step:

Welcome home, grumpy girl. 🥹🎀🫏
