East Tennessee Miniature Horse and Donkey Rescue We strive to be a safety net for miniature horses, donkeys and mules at risk of being homeless To educate the public about the plight of the unwanted horse.

ETMHD is a small rescue made up of volunteers who want to make a big difference in the lives of small equines. Our mission is three fold:

To be a safety net for miniature horses, donkeys and mules that are at risk of being homeless or going to auction. To educate potential adopters and mini owners of the care and needs of these little equines.

Little Mocha stands so good for her breathing treatments. We currently have two horses with heaves and are using our old rigged up nebulizer. However, we are concerned that this isn't quite working like a real horse nebulizer would.
We have found a place that makes a foal sized unit that would work for our little ones.
This would ensure we are getting the medication dosed correctly during each treatment. This FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY we would like to raise funds for this device but it ain't cheap -nothing with horses is. The unit is approximately 1200 dollars (unless you have one in the closet you'd like to share with us) LINK AT THE BOTTOM. Thank you 💜

OLIVIA UPDATE

Olivia has made huge improvements last week. Being in the arena she is really starting to get around and she has needed no assistance getting up and down on the arena footing. Right now we are working towards what would be the best environment for her to go to when she leaves UT. She is just amazing us all at every turn. Keep up the good thoughts for her continued improvement 💜

Three new kids have arrived safely at the rescue. Introductions later this week. They will be look for a forever family after vetting and evaluation. Thank you to everyone for keeping the volunteers on your thoughts today. It was an 8 hour trip and we are going to get some well earned rest. 💜

Special toe day for several of the sanctuary kids. Art (who is completely blind) was absolutely terrified and almost hurt himself when we tried to trim him before, was sedated and given a nice pedicure while he napped.
Twinkle Toes also got a new set of shoes and the works. Thank you Kim for all you do to help these little ones 💜

So Crackers is back and looking for a home. He made some bad choices and was not going to work as a companion for the mule Buddy. We are not sure if it was food related or because there was a mare on property (he do love the ladies).
So Crackers will be looking for a home with a horse companion and needs to be the only boy or there needs to be no girls. Crackers can be on your pocket and leads well, stands for the farrier. He will thrive on a dry lot of poor pasture due to his weight ... Anyone have the right place for this stunning boy?
