Sweet Blanton is still looking for his forever home. He has been in foster care since July 2nd, between 3 different foster homes. Why, you wonder? Because we all want our turn with him. Yes, he really is that wonderful. Not getting attached is very difficult when you foster and Blanton is really challenging that concept with all of us. He is 1/2 Boston terrier and 1/2 Aussie Shepherd. He is housebroken, crate trained, gets along with other dogs and with cats, and is just generally a well behaved, loving dog. Fostering a dog can be very rewarding. From anonymity in a small pen where they are housed practically 24x7 to a loving lap where they feel safe. If not you, who? If not now, when?

We are sad to be losing our junior trainer who has to go back to…get this… grade school! We have loved seeing him and his mom every week at the Loudon County Animal Shelter this past summer. He took to training dogs like a pro. He will still join us when possible. This kid will be the next Caesar Milan! Good luck, Fulton.

Cosette is out of the shelter and is now Millie and being doted on by a loving family.
This wasn’t one of our foster dogs but we love it when people keep in touch with us about their adopted shelter dogs.

This is a Beautiful update from Millie’s new mom.

“She is an absolute joy. She’s just fit right in. She’s so sweet, she listens well, just likes to cuddle, is great with the kids. We lucked out with her. Thanks for all your help!”

Ready for adoption!

Meet Blanton: professional lounger, full-time cuddle buddy, and part-time personal shadow. 😂🐾

Blanton is a very chill dude who believes life is best lived at a relaxed pace—with his favorite human nearby at all times. Need some personal space? Blanton respectfully disagrees. He’s sweet, loving, and happiest when he’s close enough to keep tabs on you.

He’s basically the dog version of, “I don’t need much… just you, some love, and a comfy spot to supervise from.” ❤️

If you’re looking for a laid-back best friend who comes with unlimited love and absolutely zero interest in being too far away from you, Blanton is your guy!

Boston Terrier/Aussie mix. Neutered, all shots and microchipped. Housebroken and crate trained. 5 y/o.

Barn cats abound at the Loudon County Animal Shelter. But they are well taken care of. This little kitty, Pretty Girl, wants to come in and get her daily pets. Which she got in spades.

Nova took a much needed weekend away from the shelter. She received a glowing review from the wonderful volunteers!

She did great on her long walks, played a good game of fetch, and entertained herself tossing toys up in the air. They described her as a sweet, joyful soul who prefers laying next to you...or across your lap! She's still young and gets the zoomies, but they report she takes direction well and made them laugh all weekend.

Nova proved that with some direction, she can be quite the love bug.

She is back at the shelter now and really needs a furever home of her very own who appreciates her whimsical nature.
