is a day to celebrate freedom, culture, and resilience. ❤️
We’re often taught that slavery ended with the Emancipation Proclamation, but for enslaved people in Texas, freedom didn’t come until June 19, 1865. Since then, Black communities have celebrated Juneteenth with parades and other events—and in 2021, it became a federal holiday.
By honoring this history, we build a feminist future that uplifts everyone. Our movement stands on the leadership and resilience of Black women throughout history.
