The Little Tokyo Community Council have signed a Community Benefits Agreement with the 4th & Central (Cold Storage) project team.

We are extremely grateful to our community members in Little Tokyo for writing letters, showing up to hearings, and providing your expertise. None of this could have been achieved without your commitment to protect our historic community.

While this CBA may not address all of the community concerns around the Project, we are proud of all the wins secured through the campaign and negotiations, which was only possible through the work, time, and support of our partners in the Little Tokyo and Skid Row communities.

📣 Call to action!

➡️ Please join LTCC on Tuesday, April 14th @ 2pm at City Hall for the next public hearing on the 4th/Central Cold Storage development.

The 4th and Central Project is a large development being proposed at the edge of Little Tokyo with 10 buildings ranging in size from 2 to 30 stories tall. These luxury high-rise buildings do not integrate with/connect to its surrounding neighborhoods, make Little Tokyo unaffordable for seniors and small businesses, and do not align with the community’s visions for a Sustainable Little Tokyo. 🌱

Learn more about the community’s opposition to this development by visiting littletokyola.org/4thcentral, following on Instagram, or attending LTCC’s community meetings.

Request LTCC’s hearing toolkit at the link🔗 in our bio! The toolkit includes:

🔻Written public comment template (and instructions on how to send!)

🔻Talking points for the in-person public hearing

🔻Day-of information about the public hearing

     🔻 ..and more!

Thank you to Councilmember Jurado and her team for their continued partnership with the Little Tokyo and Skid Row communities, and for recognizing the protections these historic neighborhoods deserve. ❤️

"Preservation Over Redevelopment”

The Fourth and Central Cold Storage development is a 7+ acre, 30 story tall development being proposed on the southeast edge of Little Tokyo. LTCC continues to oppose this project due to its height/density, lack of affordable housing, and the development team's lack of community engagement.

To learn more about the project and LTCC’s opposition, visit littletokyola.org/4thcentral
