Today is a day of reflection on the great loss of last January, but also of great transformation, strength, and hope for the survivors throughout Los Angeles.
Responding to our the needs of our communities, we transformed our centers into distribution sites where tens of thousands of people from every corner of Los Angeles donated essential items - food, clothing, household supplies and more.
We provided free childcare for first responders who were keeping us safe during the time of crisis. We gave free YMCA memberships through the year for those who were impacted, which included access to all LA Y centers, critical support services, and mental health recourses. These free memberships also included youth classes, and sleepaway camp, giving youth opportunities to create lifelong memories full of joy.
Today, we're incredibly proud to share that the YMCA will continue essential fire-response support for all impacted families through 2026. Because recovery doesn't follow a calendar, and families shouldn't have to navigate this alone.
We thank all our staff, volunteers, and community members for helping us help those in need, and we will continue to be a cornerstone for our communities.
Together we are making a difference.
Be Well. Do Good. Lead Change.
