We’re excited to share a new writing prompt in collaboration with the Writers Guild Initiative!

Write a scene with a character who faces their worst fear.

Whether you are looking for a creative exercise as a warm-up before diving into your work, wrestling with writer's block and looking for a path forward, or hoping to spark new ideas, we hope this prompt helps you put pen to page.

Usually, WGF Archive materials are tucked away, safe and sound in what was formerly a bank vault, so it was a very special occasion to have some of our gems on display this weekend at the annual Archives Bazaar! A selection of our materials, including THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK screenplay, play programs from The Writers’ Club dating back to the 1920s (the Screen Writers Guild’s social arm), strike buttons and flyers, took a field trip to Cal State LA where students, local history buffs, movie fans, and more gathered to see unique items in LA history.

Thanks so much to our volunteers for helping us bring the WGF Archive on the road!
