We had an amazing turnout at UCR’s Career & Engaged Learning Fair! 🎉💙

It was a great opportunity to connect with passionate individuals eager to make an impact in education, and to share who we are, what we do, and the many ways to grow with Woodcraft Rangers.

Attendees got to hear about our quality programming, what it looks like to work with students and school communities, college and career growth opportunities through Lifecraft, and how to join our team.

Today is Indigenous Peoples' Day. 🌎

Woodcraft Rangers and Camp Woodcraft serve young people across Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties, the ancestral and present-day homelands of many Indigenous peoples who remain vibrant, living communities today.

We're grateful to live, learn, and play on their lands.

"I like jumping and dancing with everyone!" (TK student)

In Spring 2026, we surveyed over 5,000 students, and here's what we found:

• 95% say they feel like they belong
• 96% say the adults at Woodcraft listen to them
• 97% say we do fun things

Afterschool keeps kids safe, engaged, and learning. But across the country, 22.6 million children whose parents would enroll them in a program don't have access to one.

We're making the case for the students in before and after school programs. They're the same students schools serve during the school day, and they deserve the same seriousness and care during out-of-school time.

Kickin' It? We did. ⚽

Last week, 453 students came together for Kickin' It with Woodcraft, our annual soccer and futsal tournament! ⚽👟 From quick passes on the futsal court to loud cheers on the sidelines, Rangers from schools across districts showed up for their teams.

This year, we were proud to highlight our all-girls teams from our Play Equity schools in Watts and South LA, supported by the LA84 Foundation Play Equity Fund and Nike Gender Equity Initiative. Girls often get fewer chances to play sports, and girls teams give them a space to play, compete, and grow. 💪

Thank you to the families who filled the stands, our student volunteers, and the Woodcraft staff who made the day happen. 💙 And a special thanks to Angel City FC and LA Metro for joining us, from raffles and giveaways to sharing GoPass info with families. 🙌

Our soccer coaches are goal getters! ⚽

The World Cup may be over, but the energy is still very much alive here in SoCal. This month, our sports coaches spent the day at Soccer for Success Coaches Training, hosted by the U.S. Soccer Foundation, covering everything from soccer fundamentals to mentorship, social-emotional learning, and creating a safe, supportive space for every kid on the field.

Research shows expanded learning programs like ours support kids' health and social-emotional well-being, and Soccer for Success is another way we get there, one practice at a time.

Next up: seeing it all in action at Kickin' It With Woodcraft, our student Futsal tournament. 🏆

Our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month continues!

Woodcraft Rangers' Edgemont Elementary School Dance Team gave its first performance at Moreno Valley Unified School District's Día de Fiestas event, part of Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations.

The students wore tejanas, traditional Mexican cowboy hats, and performed a baile regional for an excited audience. The team even received a special recognition from guest Superintendent Dr. Alejandro Ruvalcaba.

A special thanks to the Woodcraft team for leading and supporting Edgemont through its first performance and building the Woodcraft Rangers culture within the MoVal community.

This week, our robotics club is putting the "code" in "coding week."

Behind every robot in these photos is a team of Rangers who debugged, tested, rebuilt, and tried again. They're learning to break big problems into small ones, troubleshoot on the fly, and figure it out together with their friends.

That's the real skill we're building: confidence to solve problems 💪

🎉¡Feliz Hispanic Heritage Month! 💃✨

We asked a group of dancers in our performing arts program who bring merengue, salsa, and ballet folklórico to life what these dances mean to them.

They talked about learning the history and steps behind each style (even when the name doesn't always come easy at first!), and how proud they feel representing their culture through movement. Some shared their moves for us on the spot, and others brought the energy straight from the stage.

At Woodcraft Rangers, we're proud to give our students space to explore and celebrate where they come from, because cultural pride is something worth dancing about!🕺✨
