Earlier this year we received a very special donation from our friends at Convergence Veterans Support of three brand new bikes! So we decided we would have a raffle on children’s day so that three lucky children would win their very own bicycles! It was the big event of the day and we were so pleased to see the happy faces of our winners!! Thanks Convergence Veterans' Support

Today we were happy to welcome our good friends from True North Missions NON-PROFIT to our clinic! We love to have their care are support for our kids and for so many of the surrounding communities that they also visit each time their teams return! Ensuring the health and wellbeing of our kids is a pillar of what we do. So when we get wonderful feedback about how healthy our kids are it always reminds us of the importance of the work we do and the difference we make in their lives!

Our nutrition program is the fuel that keeps us all going here at Casa Guatemala! And we are always so grateful when our previous staff continue to contribute to ensure our kids have a healthy and balanced diet! Many of our former employees will regularly send a donation of meat or funds for a special meal so that the kids can have something out of the ordinary! We love that we have made such an impact on them and that they continue to support us and be a part of our Casa Guatemala family!

Just a few more shots of our presentations from last week’s celebration! I the kids danced for five to seven minutes for each presentation! So we have some pretty long videos too! I will continue to post so you can see all their hard work!

All the groups did a terrific job on their presentations but we did have judges come all the way from town to help us choose which teams did the very best! A special thanks to Luis Flores and Keylyn Galindo of Motoequipos Rio Dulce for Donating our 4 trophies for the first and second prize winners of both our older and younger student categories! It was a real treat for the kids to be able to share in such a special moment when they lifted the trophies above their heads and celebrated their successes!!
