It's another big Tuesday at the Karsh Center! 🌟

Until 2:30 today, our staff and volunteers are hosting Membership Enrollment and fall class sign-ups. Bring a photo ID to become a Karsh Member or register for classes with : English as a Second Language or Beginner Computer Class in Spanish.

Our Tuesday Food Pantry is also in full swing until 2:00pm, welcoming Karsh members to pick up groceries. A special thank-you to our Food Pantry volunteers—including the Karsh West Tikkun Olam on the Go crew joining us in Koreatown today.

Grateful for another vibrant Tuesday building community together. 💙

¡Es otro gran martes en el Karsh Center! 🌟

Hoy, hasta las 2:30 p. m., nuestro personal y nuestros voluntarios estarán inscribiendo a nuevos miembros y registrando a las personas para las clases de otoño. 오늘 오후 2시 30분까지 직원들과 자원봉사자들이 멤버십 가입 및 가을학기 수업 등록을 진행합니다. 사진이 부착된 신분증을 지참하시면 Karsh 멤버로 가입하시거나, LACC와 함께 제공하는 영어를 제2언어로 배우는 ESL 수업 또는 스페인어로 진행되는 초급 컴퓨터 수업에 등록하실 수 있습니다.

오후 2시까지 운영되는 화요일 푸드 팬트리(식료품 나눔)도 활발히 진행 중이니, Karsh 멤버분들은 방문하셔서 식료품을 받아가시기 바랍니다. 오늘 코리아타운에서 함께해주신 ‘Karsh West Tikkun Olam on the Go’ 팀을 포함해, 푸드 팬트리에서 봉사해주시는 모든 자원봉사자 여러분께 특별히 감사드립니다.

We're excited to host Computer Basics class with LACC again this fall. 📚 This class meets on Monday mornings, starting August 31. It will will focus exclusively on beginner-level, or “Level 0."

The class will be offered in Spanish and is designed to help students build essential digital literacy skills for everyday life, education, and employment. Topics include basic computer operations, internet navigation, email communication, online safety, and the use of common digital tools and applications.

To register, please visit the Karsh Center on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 1:30 - 3:30pm or call 213.401.4651 to set up an appointment. Must bring photo ID.

We're proud to help a new group of students start to develop their computer skills and gain the confidence as they access the digital world!

Thank you to City National Bank for their generous donation of 150 backpacks filled with school supplies, which we were proud to distribute to students and families across our community. This thoughtful gift helps ease the back-to-school season for local families and sets our youngest neighbors up for a confident start to the school year.

Today is the first day of school for many students in our community. To each of you starting school today, to those getting ready to go back soon, and to all of the parents and caregivers who love and support them, you've got this! We wish you a great first day and 2026-2027 school year 👏🍎

Last month, the Karsh Center filled with the best kind of energy—little ones carefully picking out their own backpacks, beaming with pride before the new school year. 🎒✨

A heartfelt thank you to all of the generous donors who provided backpacks, to our incredible volunteers who made this morning possible, and to the children and families who came to pick out their backpacks and let us be part of your educational journey.

Great work takes intention and preparation. This week, that's our focus.

The Karsh Center will be closed to the public Monday, August 3 – Friday, August 7 for our annual Recalibration Week. This is dedicated time for our team to reflect, plan, and prepare for an impactful season ahead—so we can keep showing up for our neighbors and community the way you deserve.

We'll be back at our Sunday Food Pantry on August 9. See you then! 🥕

El Karsh Center permanecerá cerrado al público desde el lunes 3 hasta el viernes 7 de agosto con motivo de nuestra Semana Anual de Recalibración. Earlier this month, our Círculo de Apoyo Familiar families set off on an unforgettable adventure — a 3D IMAX journey through Antarctica! For many of our caregivers, it was their very first field trip and first IMAX experience — and their smiles said it all. 💙

Huge thanks to our volunteer team who made this day possible. Experiences like this open new perspectives and strengthen the connections that hold our community together.

Join us this Friday, July 17th; we will provide free backpacks filled with essential school supplies to help every child start the year prepared. To ensure we serve as many families as possible, we will limit the number of backpacks per family to 4. See you then!
