rvive so long as the size of one's wallet determines the strength of one's voice. 99Rise is a nationwide network of organizers building a movement to get big money out of American politics and overturn Citizens United through strategic, creative nonviolent direct action. This is the page for the 99Rise 501c4 nonprofit organization's Los Angeles Chapter.Welcome to 99Rise Los Angeles page! We are proud to be your official connection to 99Rise activity in the Los Angeles area. This page brings together local citizens and grassroots organizers to share information and be informed about escalating nonviolent direct actions that address issues facing our community, such as corruption and political inequality. We advocate for legislation around campaign finance reform and expose corruption. This page is intended to build community around the actions of the 99Rise LA Team and to serve as a platform for sharing information around the Money in Politics movement on a local level. If you are not currently a 99Rise LA Team Member, you may join the revolution by attending our next meeting and requesting to join the 99Rise LA Group. Our meetings take place Tuesdays in Echo Park from 730-930 at the Center for the Working Poor. Individuals such as Cenk Ugar, Marrianne Williamson, Laurence Lessig, Trent Lange, and Dolores Huerta have addressed our events. Here, you can meet with other engaged and active organizers in LA, join in team activities such as our Spring Social. Take part in amending the US Constitution by volunteering online or in person to end corporate influence on our politicians, limiting campaign contributions, and restoring our democracy of honest government, economic stewardship.
