🎓✨ Congratulations to our MCLC Know Your Rights Youth Ambassadors! ✨🎓

On August 4, our students celebrated the completion of the Know Your Rights Program by presenting their final Capstone Projects to a panel of community and labor leaders, including representatives from the Mayor’s Office, MCF board members, labor leaders, and MCLC school leadership.

Since beginning the program in February 2026, these students have grown tremendously in their knowledge, confidence, leadership, and ability to advocate for themselves and their communities. We are incredibly proud of their presentations, their hard work, and how far they have come! 💪🌱

These young leaders are not only learning about their rights—they are using their voices, sharing their ideas, and helping shape a better future for Los Angeles. 🌟

Thank you to the Mayors Office, all of their coaches, PLUS ME Project , and Miguel Contreras Learning Complex for making this happen.

Armando Loza is a dedicated leader, community advocate, and lifelong champion for working people. As Executive Director of the Miguel Contreras Foundation, he leads the organization’s mission to connect underserved communities to quality union careers, workforce training, and opportunities that create lasting economic mobility.

Inspired by his own family’s journey and the life-changing impact of union careers, Armando is passionate about expanding access to opportunity for the next generation of workers. His collaborative leadership and unwavering commitment to equity continue to strengthen communities and empower individuals to build brighter futures.
