The 31st Annual Central Ave Jazz Festival is coming back to the street that made it.

Before the Sunset Strip, there was Central Avenue. In the 1940s this street was the center of Black music on the West Coast. Clubs on every corner. Musicians who changed American sound, playing blocks from where our offices sit today. Central Ave Jazz Fest is back Saturday, September 19.

Three stages of live music. Four pavilions. Food and a market running all day, on Central Avenue between MLK and Vernon. Nothing to pay at the door.

We are proud to help put this on alongside and the New 9th, and CCSCLA. Central Avenue has been throwing this party since 1996, and it still belongs to the neighborhood.
