Summer enrollment is OPEN!

LA’s BEST summer programs are bringing hands-on learning, enrichment, movement, creativity, and joyful
experiences to students across Los Angeles.

Programs include opportunities for:
• Arts and enrichment
• STEM and hands-on learning
• Sports and recreation
• Safe and supportive environments for students and families

Students may attend any participating LA’s BEST summer site regardless of summer school enrollment status.
Summer programming runs from June 15 through July 24, with no program on June 19 or July 4.

This year, nearly 300 LA’s BEST students took part in our College Bound Adventures program, diving into future career pathways and discovering what higher education has to offer. The highlight of the program was a series of five exciting field trips to local college campuses across Los Angeles!

This initiative was made possible in partnership with the Mayor’s Office and the Student to Student Success (S2S) program, where student workers from nearby high schools helped lead programming and support culminating college visits.

A huge thank you to Santa Monica College and the Mayor’s Office for helping us create meaningful, hands-on college experiences for students across Los Angeles.

Summer enrollment is officially OPEN!

This summer, LA’s BEST is bringing hands-on learning, games, friendships, and safe, joyful experiences to students across Los Angeles.

Students may attend any participating LA’s BEST summer site, regardless of whether they are enrolled in summer school at that school. The LA’s BEST summer program will run Monday through Friday from June 15 through July 24, with no program on June 19 or July 3.

In a new op-ed, LA's BEST President & CEO Michele Broadnax reflects on LA’s BEST’s nearly four decades of impact and the urgent need to invest in the next generation of Angelenos.

“If we want them to love this city, to stay in this city, to lead this city, we have to show them, right now, that this city loves them back.”

In 1988, LA’s BEST began with 10 schools and a belief that Los Angeles could do better for its children. Today, we serve more than 24,000 children across 201 elementary school sites.

We’re excited to share that Michele Broadnax, MBA, President & CEO of LA’s BEST, is a shortlisted nominee for the upcoming LA Executive Forum and Leadership Awards presented by the Los Angeles Times Studios on June 8.

This recognition reflects the impact of the entire LA’s BEST community across 221 programs serving children and families throughout Los Angeles.
