CONGRATULATIONS 👏🏾 TO MABLEAN EPHRIAM FOUNDATION FOUNDER JUDGE MABLEAN EPHRIAM
THE CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST CELEBRATES THE PHENOMENAL ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE HONORABLE JUDGE MABLEAN EPHRIAM
Emerging as a legal luminary, Judge Mablean Ephriam's journey reflects resilience and dedication. Originating from a background in faith with an interest in Law from 8th grade, she navigated the rigors of law school at night for four years while juggling a full-time job, simultaneously embracing the responsibilities of marriage and raising a growing family.
Her early years were shaped within the COGIC church at Emmanuel Church Of God In Christ, where she not only attended but also served as a church announcer. This foundation laid the groundwork for her subsequent roles, providing legal counsel to the local church and the First Jurisdiction of Southern California COGIC, actively participating on boards such as the Women's Department COGIC, and First Jurisdiction Executive Board. As a board member for the Hale, Morris, Lewis Manor, a Senior Housing Program, she extended her impact into community initiatives.
Judge Mablean's commitment to justice and community led her to co-found the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law, a Free Legal Clinic, underscoring her dedication to serving those in need. Her influence and contributions to the COGIC community are celebrated, reflecting a life devoted to justice.
In the realm of television, her journey spans over two decades, serving as the Presiding Judge on "JUSTICE WITH JUDGE MABLEAN," now in its 9th season. The show resonates across major U.S. media markets and international platforms, offering real-life solutions to a myriad of issues.
Her television career began as the groundbreaking judge on Fox TV's "Divorce Court" in 1999, followed by notable appearances in Tyler Perry's productions and various TV shows. Post-Divorce Court, she redirected her focus to the MABLEAN EPHRIAM FOUNDATION, a non-profit organization championing the cause of strengthening families and empowering impoverished communities in Los Angeles County.
Beyond the legal realm, Judge Mablean is a seasoned public speaker, the author of two impactful books, and an unwavering advocate for community service. Her life is a testament to the principles of faith, family, and trust in God. As a mother of four, grandmother of ten, and great-grandmother of one, she stands as a source of inspiration for many. Judge Mablean Ephriam's illustrious legal journey commenced as a Federal Correctional Officer before transitioning to a role as a legal secretary for an all-black male law firm. Following this, she served as a law clerk in the office of the Los Angeles City Attorney, ultimately becoming a prosecuting attorney with the City Attorney of Los Angeles after graduating from law school in 1978. In 1982, she boldly opened her own law office, where she honed her legal acumen until her pivotal transition to television in 1998. This rich tapestry of experiences showcases her diverse and impactful contributions to the field of law and justice.
