ARF is a positive sharing/networking page created by shelter volunteers to rally the community to foster and adopt Harbor Shelter animals. Our goal is to place the wonderful Harbor Shelter animals with either a reputable California rescue group or into a loving forever home. We are always looking for other local animal lovers with the same vision and community spirit to join our team. PLEASE CONTINUE TO SHARE, do not copy and use as your own. Urgent!
Introducing our delicate senior Coco. After 15 loyal years, she was surrendered to the Harbor Shelter. She has one eye that is opaque and the other eye is clear and her hair is thinning. She enjoys being held and petted and wants to be with people. She can walk but she does not go for walks. She is a sweet granny that needs someone to care for her and make her feel loved. Please consider opening your home to Coco.

Please DM us with question or if you would like to meet Coco. Please SHARE!!

Meet Rocko! This fun-loving boy has plenty of energy and an incredible love for balls. He knows “sit,” is easy to engage with, and can be affectionate. But, if there’s a ball to chase, that’s definitely where his attention goes. Rocko also participates well in playgroup with other dogs.

Happy, energetic, and always ready for some fun, Rocko would love a home where he can have plenty of room to run.

Please DM us with questions or if you would like to meet Rocko. Please SHARE!

Meet Lulu. Always friendly and engaging, this sweet girl loves to keep you company. She loves to stay near you, on your lap, or between your legs. She’s a wonderful companion! Lulu arrived with an atrophied eye and she can’t see with that eye. But that doesn’t seem to bother her. She is a gentle, easy going, sweetheart who is well behaved and easy to be around. Lulu would love to meet you at the Harbor Shelter.

Introducing Winston. He is a gentle sweetheart who is so special! He loves everyone and he will cozy up next to you and bathe you with kisses. He soaks up attention like a sponge and he is hard to resist. This sweet soul arrived as a stray with a small wound to his ear, one eye that is atrophied and does not work and inflamed ear canals. He has had a hard life and has not been well cared for. We love this guy and he really deserves better. This low energy lover needs medical attention and someone who will care for him forever.

Popeye is always ready for a little fun!

He loves rolling over for belly rubs, waddling around in the baby pool, and exploring the yard with his nose leading the way. He enjoys spending time with volunteers and trying to figure out puzzle toys—although he's still figuring that one out!

Popeye can take a little time to warm up, but once he knows you, he’s affectionate and loves connecting with his favorite volunteers. He’ll even come running across the yard to greet someone he knows.

Popeye can be selective in playgroup, but with the right canine friends, he enjoys social time. This sweet, fun-loving boy has plenty of personality to share and would love someone to get to know him.

Please DM us with questions or if you would like to meet Popeye. Please SHARE!

Gerald has an abscess on his side that was lanced and is draining and healing.

Gerald is a playful sweetheart and he would love to welcome you home!
