Happy Mother’s Day to every mother, in every form.

To the human mothers, the grandmothers, the aunties, the caregivers, the rescuers, the fosterers, the protectors.

To the domestic animal mothers who love, nurture, comfort, and grieve just as deeply.

And to the wild mothers — like this beautiful elephant — who guide their young across ancient paths, shield them from danger, teach them where to find water, and hold them close in a world that is changing too fast around them.

Motherhood is not just human.
Love is not just human.
Family is not just human.

Today we honor every being who protects, nurtures, teaches, comforts, and sacrifices for the life in their care.

May we remember that all mothers deserve safety.
All babies deserve a future.
And all families — human, domestic, and wild — deserve a world where they can thrive.

Happy Mother’s Day.

Not gonna miss the shot. In Zambia working on our documentary “Of Tusks and Tears” waiting for the elephant herds to cross the river from the National Park into the farming villages. All we knew is they would most likely cross sometime between later afternoon and dark……somewhere along the river. 4 Canon cameras and a drone later…….we got the shot!

This is a film we created for Dazzle Africa to show some of the exceptional work they do in safari to help partners like Conservation South Luangwa. If you're thinking about a safari, make sure you choose www.DazzleAfrica.org because part of your money for the safari will go directly to help wildlife and the people dedicating their lives to protect them.

This Is Their Home Too

Today is not just about the Earth.
It’s about everyone who calls it home.

Every animal……wild or domestic…..is not a statistic, not a species, not a background to our lives.
They are individuals.
They feel hunger. They feel thirst. They seek safety. They seek connection.
They want what we want…
Food. Water. Shelter. A place where they can live, not just survive.

And yet, every day, their world shrinks while ours expands.

Forests fall. Oceans warm. Rivers run dry.
Habitats disappear. Lives are pushed to the edge.
Not because they failed—but because we forgot.

We forgot that we are not separate from this planet.
We are part of it.
And with that comes responsibility.

If we have the power to take…
We have the responsibility to protect.

To protect the land so it can breathe.
To protect the water so it can give life.
To protect the animals so they can live as they were meant to live, free, safe, and whole.

Not just some animals.
Not just the ones we choose to love.
All animals.

Because coexistence isn’t a concept.
It’s a choice.

And the future of this planet—
for them, and for us—
depends on what we choose next.

Blondie Didn’t Have to Die 💔🐻

Caption:

She was a mother.
She was part of the community.
She was living where bears have always lived.

And for that… she was killed.

Blondie — a black bear in Monrovia — was euthanized after a non-life-threatening encounter with a human.

Not relocated.
Not given another chance.
Killed.

Her cubs? Now orphaned.

Here’s the truth no one wants to say out loud:

We are building deeper into wildlife habitat every single year…
and when animals behave like animals…

we punish them for it.

Residents begged officials to relocate her. Thousands signed petitions.

It didn’t matter.

If this is what we call “wildlife management”…
then what exactly are we protecting?

Because it’s starting to feel like we’re protecting human comfort — not wildlife.

Blondie deserved better.
And this will happen again.

Unless we demand something different.
