CMLA alumni are out here leading MAJOR spaces in engineering and innovation 💙🔥 Recently, CMLA alum Paola Munoz planned and executed the 2026 IISE Northeast Regional Conference at NYU Tandon School of Engineering as President of NYU’s Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) chapter!⁠

What her team built was truly incredible and inspiring👏⁠

Over three days, students, researchers, and industry professionals came together for conversations centered on Augmented Intelligence and the future of Industrial Systems.⁠

And College Match students came ready to put in the work 💪⁠

Today was full of collaboration and first-gen students pushing themselves to improve! From highlighted passages and math equations to group discussions and presentations, today was all about building the skills and confidence that will carry our students into test day! 🎓💙⁠

Week after week, our students continue showing up, staying committed, and putting in the effort to keep growing. Every SAT Prep Day is another chance to build confidence, sharpen skills, and move one step closer toward BIG college goals 🔥⁠

We're soo incredibly proud of CMLA student Lamont Newell and all that this moment represents for his family and his future! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽⁠

Lamont’s journey is a powerful example what can happen when talent meets opportunity, support, and relentless determination.⁠
⁠
Through personal challenges and adversity, Lamont continued to push forward with purpose, becoming valedictorian at Verbum Dei Jesuit High School and earning admission to top colleges across the country.⁠
⁠
This fall, Lamont will attend Columbia University, where he plans to study industrial engineering as a John W. Kluge Scholar. Beyond college, his long-term goal is to create pathways for more Black students to succeed in STEM by building spaces, programs, and opportunities that help the next generation see themselves in these fields and thrive within them.⁠
⁠
As valedictorian of Verbum Dei Jesuit High School with a 4.4 GPA, he turned years of hard work and perseverance into an extraordinary achievement while also becoming a powerful role model for his younger brother along the way!⁠
