Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO Founded in 1885, the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO is the chartered Central Labor Council (CLC) of the AFL-CIO in Los Angeles County.

It is the second largest in the country, representing over 300 unions and over 800,000 workers. COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

The LA Fed proudly participated in the 30th AFL-CIO Constitutional Convention where President Liz Shuler, the first woman to ever head the AFL-CIO, and Secretary-Treasurer Fred Redmond, the highest-ever ranking Black labor leader, were reelected for another four-year term. Our President Yvonne Wheeler was present as a program speaker where she reflected on the resiliency of the Los Angeles Labor Movement during one of Los Angeles' most trying years, "... if this past year has taught us anything, it is this: When labor stands together, there is no crisis too great, no challenge too difficult, and no obstacle too powerful for working people to overcome."
