Happy New Week!!! So we kicked off the EXPOSE Summer Career Series last week with our first sessions for both the younger and older students.

The students had the chance to learn from Fatmata Jalloh, Cardiology Nurse Practitioner at Keck USC Medical Center, who shared what it means to work in healthcare and gave a real look into the Nurse Practitioner career path, including a quick introduction to bystander CPR.

We also had Ruemu Jovi-Usude, who spoke with students about Sports Medicine and helped them understand the different career paths in that field and what it takes to get started.

It was a strong start to the program, with students asking questions, engaging with the speakers and exploring new career possibilities.

We're so grateful to our first speakers for showing up and setting the tone for the rest of the series.😁

Our Founder, ( ) Monalisa Okojie joined on breakfast 247 to speak about the work we do and our ongoing commitment to empowering women and youth through access to skills, leadership development, and real opportunities.

The conversation also highlighted the upcoming EXPOSE Women Empowerment & Leadership Seminar in Accra, focused on creating a space where participants can learn, connect, and take practical steps toward personal and professional growth.

Through initiatives like this, EXPOSE continues to support individuals in building confidence, developing relevant skills, and exploring pathways that can shape their future.

Happy Monday.💙

This past weekend, EXPOSE team joined to support community outreach and help spread awareness about issues affecting our neighborhoods, including mental health. Opportunities like this allow organizations and community members to come together, share information, and continue important conversations that impact everyday life in our communities.

We appreciate the work being done to keep these conversations visible and to create spaces where people can learn, connect, and stay informed.

We also thank the organization for donating tickets to EXPOSE to attend the Lakers vs. Denver game. We are grateful for the support and the opportunity for our team to be part of the experience.

Today we celebrate the strength, courage and voices of women and girls everywhere.

International Women’s Day reminds us that every woman deserves dignity, opportunity, and the freedom to live fully and safely.

This year’s theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” is a call to keep pushing for fairness, education, health and leadership opportunities for women across our communities.

When women rise, families grow stronger and communities move forward.

Our black History Month event brought a room full of energy, curiosity and inspiration. 💙💚

From conversations to shared ideas, the evening was about celebrating contributions, reflecting on history and imagining what’s possible for the future. Laughter, questions and connections filled the space, moments like these remind us why creating these experiences matters.

Black History Month gives us a moment to reflect and more importantly, to pour into the next generation.

Tomorrow, EXPOSE hosts our Youth & Community Event centered on this year’s theme: African American Youth and Community - Honoring Contributions and Building Legacy. Celebrating where we come from while pouring into where our youth are going.

We are truly honored to welcome three powerful voices who continue to lead and serve the community in meaningful ways.

Denise Jackson, the Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the LA City Council President (CD8), a dedicated public servant committed to strengthening communities.

Aineakho Ojior () Senior Manager, Technology Strategy at SoCalGas, whose work continues to open important pathways for future leaders.

Pap, master drummer, bringing the rhythm and cultural energy that connects generations.

We’re looking forward to a meaningful evening with our youth.💙

This Black History Month, we proudly honor Queen Sheba ( ), a three-time GRAMMY nominee, award-winning spoken word artist, and cultural storyteller whose work lives at the intersection of poetry, music and community.

Through her acclaimed spoken word albums and live performances, she has built a body of work that speaks boldly about identity, justice, healing, and Black womanhood. Her artistry is known for blending raw honesty with rhythm and soul, creating pieces that resonate far beyond the stage.

Beyond the mic, Queen Sheba is deeply rooted in the community. She has led youth workshops, mentored emerging artists and used her platform to amplify voices that are too often unheard of. Her work continues to create spaces where storytelling becomes a tool for empowerment and collective healing.

She is also featured in the Recording Academy’s Road to the GRAMMYs (Episode 2: Nominee Spotlight), where she reflects on her journey as a GRAMMY-nominated artist and the deeper purpose behind her craft.

Her voice is proof that Black creativity doesn’t just entertain, it transforms. ✊🏾

Our first day with EXPOSE children at the Expo Center was filled with creativity, laughter and meaningful moments.

From hands on activities to meaningful conversations, these young learners explored, expressed and built confidence in a safe and supportive space. Watching their curiosity and enthusiasm in action reminded us why this program matters so much.

This Art and Wellness program is designed to create a safe space where children can build confidence, explore their emotions and grow through creativity. And the first session was a beautiful beginning.😊💙
