We create short films and events featuring female storytellers celebrating women who inspire them, freely offering our library of inspirational stories to be viewed, discussed and enjoyed.

Join us on Tuesday October 20th, 2026 in DTLA at the Rose Hill Auditorium on the Mount Saint Mary's University Campus to celebrate the work of the 2026 Look What SHE’s Doing! Cohort as we watch the 3 short films they made during this year’s program!⁣
⁣
Look What SHE’s Doing! is a program focused on supporting and uplifting emerging women filmmakers. Under Sarah Moshman’s leadership, a cohort of up to 12 women, female-identifying and non-binary individuals over the age of 30 are selected to participate in the program over two weekends in May on the Mount Saint Mary’s University Doheny Campus. ⁣
⁣
The first weekend consists of learning camera, audio and lighting basics, and the second weekend is a film shoot with the goal of creating three short documentaries to add to the Look What SHE Did! collection of films.⁣

Holly Near a beloved founding mother of the women’s music movement of the late 20th century, discusses the artistry and influence of Krissy Keefer, a contemporary of Near’s and a pioneer of feminist dance. ⁣
⁣
Keefer’s desire to blend her activism and choreographic talent was the impetus for the creation of the Wallflower Order Dance Collective, hailed as the first dance company in the country to address lesbianism, feminism, racism, imperialism and other issues not typically explored in dance performance. Keefer’s career has been defined by her commitment to social justice and global political causes. ⁣
⁣
Upon the 50th anniversary of Dance Brigade's Dance Mission, another company Keefer founded, she said: “It has been a long and storied career, with multiple ups and downs, exhilarating performances, and economic chaos and uncertainty. We are hoping to move into a new era of peace and justice where the arts play a pivotal role in the future of humanity.”⁣

Laurel Burch started with less than nothing and built a global brand expressing joy and beauty. As a teenager on her own in 1960’s San Francisco Laurel created original jewelry by hammering metal on the back of a frying pan. ⁣

Despite poverty, single parenthood and chronic illness Laurel persisted to build a design empire still thriving more than a decade after her death. Laurel’s daughter Aarin tells the story of her remarkable mother.⁣
