Happy Juneteenth!
Today we commemorate June 19, 1865, when 250,000 enslaved people in Texas were informed of their freedom, two and a half years after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of our history and the sacredness of freedom and liberation.
We celebrate African American history, culture, and resilience. As we honor this day, we are reminded of the importance of coming together to advance understanding, justice, and equal opportunity for all.
