Today’s Thankful Thursday shoutout goes to Jennifer Chung! is a longtime supporter of KYCC. When she served on the Wilshire Center Koreatown Neighborhood Council, Jennifer helped get funding for our Koreatown Storytelling Program. Last year, she led and facilitated an impactful career panel for our high school students. Year after year, Jennifer wraps holiday gifts, sells Benefit Concert tickets, rallies groups for street clean ups, and provides kindness in many generous ways. She is an unsung hero. Though she is not one to brag, she has won the most raffle prizes of anyone we know. That's good karma. You can be part of the goodness too, check out https://www.kyccla.org/volunteer/

No experience? That’s exactly the point.
Youth Service Corps puts people aged 16–30 into paid service roles with local agencies and nonprofits right in their own cities. You build skills, earn a living wage, and contribute to work that actually matters.

Through Koreatown Access to Recovery Services (KARS), KYCC engaged 1,033 community members through outreach and events, distributing 705 naloxone kits and 1,031 fentanyl test strips to support harm reduction efforts.

This year, the program also strengthened internal capacity by training staff as Certified Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialists and launching a 10-month youth empowerment initiative with 12 high school students. Through a storytelling campaign inspired by “Tomorrow is Today,” youth helped educate the community on substance use, reduce stigma, and uplift recovery narratives in celebration of National Recovery Month.
