We received the deeply saddening news that our great friend, a true competitor, and the Vice President of the World Traditional Karate-do Union, Andrzej Maciejewski, has passed away.

On behalf of the entire World Traditional Karate-do Union community, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, students, and all those who had the privilege to know and work with him.

Andrzej was not only a dedicated leader and an outstanding karateka, but also a person of great integrity, loyalty, and kindness. As a true competitor, he inspired us with his spirit, discipline, and unwavering commitment to traditional karate-do. As our Vice President, he devoted his energy and heart to the development of our organization and to the growth of our karate community around the world.

His passing is a tremendous loss for all of us. His legacy, however, will live on in the values he embodied, in the people he taught and mentored, and in the strong foundations he helped build within the World Traditional Karate-do Union.

In this time of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and all his loved ones.
Please accept our sincerest sympathy and support.

Hello dear friends,

In less than a week you’ll be on the French Riviera for the WBKA seminar with Sensei Avi Rokah.
Here is a short, practical guide to reach Antibes and Hotel Le Collier from Nice Airport — no need to rent a car.

---

Arrival

You will arrive at Terminal 1.
(If you land at Terminal 2: free shuttles run constantly between both terminals.)

---

Your transportation options

1. Taxi (fastest & most comfortable)

About €75 to Antibes.

2. Uber / Bolt (cheaper)

Usually cheaper than taxis and easy to order.

3. Bus — ZOU! line 82

Turn left after baggage claim and walk toward the red gorilla and the I Love Nice sign.
At the bus station, take bus 82 to “Pôle d’Échange d’Antibes”.
Price: a bit over €10. Runs about once per hour.

4. Train — easiest & cheapest

Go straight after baggage claim (follow the video).
Walk to Grand Arénas / Saint-Augustin station.
A train to Antibes runs every 15 minutes (except during strikes!).
Price: under €6.

---

Arriving at Antibes Train Station

From here, you won’t need a car for the rest of your stay.

---

To reach Hotel Le Collier (5 minutes on foot)

Turn left when exiting the station → go up the stairs → cross the bus station → cross Boulevard Général Vautrin.
The hotel will be on your right.

---

To reach the CREPS (the sports school hosting the seminar)

Return to the bus station → go down the stairs → pass the train station → cross the street → follow Avenue Robert Soleau, then Avenue du 11 Novembre.
The CREPS will appear on your right, next to a large parking lot (look for the Olympic/Paralympic flames).
Follow the path to the gate (see video).

The training space is a heated tent with a proper floor — not ideal, but the best available after many challenges finding a venue.

There is a protected area to change, but not real locker rooms. Please bring water.

---

Useful info

The old town of Antibes is a 10-minute walk from the dojo.

From 08:00 to 19:30, a free shuttle stops right in front of the CREPS every 10 minutes.

Antibes offers beaches, promenades, pubs, museums, and a pleasant climate.

Weather next weekend should be mild, maybe slightly cloudy.

Sensei Nishiyama’s Karate is based on principles that apply to all styles of Karate. This camp is sure to equip you with tools that you will be able to apply to enhance your own practice and to use in your teaching. Understanding principles allows one to develop their own karate, according to their physical and mental make up and inclinations, rather than a cookie cutter approach to training.
This means more effectiveness, less injuries and karate as an art rather than imitation.

If you are interested in participating in the European Budo karate Camp, taking place in Antibes Nov. 21-23, 2025, go to our website to register.
