What started out as a one-day local golf tournament, organized to raise money and equipment for boys and girls in southern California who lacked the resources to participate competitively, has turned into a nationwide fundraising juggernaut focused on bringing golf to all youth throughout the United States.

This week, 2026 Friends of Golf & SCGA Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship recipient Andrew Marc Rodriguez competed in the SCGA Amateur Championship. After his round, Andrew realized there had been a rules situation. The following morning, he contacted the committee and voluntarily assessed himself a two-stroke penalty.

At Friends of Golf, we believe golf is about so much more than scores and trophies. It’s about developing integrity, honesty, respect, and leadership that extends far beyond the course.

We’ve been fortunate to watch Andrew’s journey over the years, from participating in our Junior Clinic at our Annual Charity Golf Tournament to becoming a Friends of Golf & SCGA Junior Scholarship recipient. Seeing him represent the values of our mission both on and off the course makes us incredibly proud. Congratulations, Andrew! We’re proud to support the next generation of leaders in golf.

As Women’s Golf Month comes to a close, we’re celebrating the women whose impact on the game continues to inspire future generations. 💚⛳🇺🇸

Curtis Cup alum Cindy (Scholefield) McConnell returned to watch the next generation of amateur golfers compete on one of amateur golf’s biggest stages.

As a UCLA golfer, Cindy was part of a program supported by Friends of Golf during her collegiate career. Now, seeing her back at the Curtis Cup is a reminder that investing in young women in golf creates a legacy that extends far beyond the course.

Here’s to the women who paved the way and the next generation ready to leave their mark.

Congratulations to Andrew Rodriguez, our 2026 Friends of Golf SCGA Scholar! 🎉⛳

Friends of Golf Tournament Chairman and Vice President Ted Coyne had the honor of presenting Andrew with his scholarship at the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship Reception.

This recognition is especially meaningful because Andrew’s journey with Friends of Golf began years ago. In 2023, Andrew and his brothers joined us at the Friends of Golf Charity Tournament, where they participated in our Junior Golf Clinic and attended the Evening Gala. Watching young golfers grow through the game and celebrating their achievements along the way is exactly what our mission is all about.

Congratulations, Andrew! We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see what the future holds.

One of the best parts of the Curtis Cup wasn’t just watching the world’s top amateur women compete. It was watching the crowd.

Young golfers following every shot. Families sharing the experience together. Parents and grandparents cheering from the ropes.

For nearly four decades, Friends of Golf has worked to support junior golfers and create opportunities for the next generation. This weekend was a reminder that inspiration often starts with simply being there.

The future of golf wasn’t just on the course at Bel-Air Country Club. It was watching from the galleries. 🇺🇸⛳

Team USA captures the 2026 Curtis Cup! 🇺🇸🏆

What a weekend at Bel-Air Country Club as the world’s top amateur women golfers showcased incredible talent, determination, and sportsmanship. Congratulations to Team USA on bringing the Cup home and inspiring the next generation of golfers along the way.
