s being a bit of a hypocrite. I had been working at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for several years and even volunteered there for a while before that, and in all that time I had not gone to see my primary care physician or gotten a “wellness check.”
So I took my own advice and made the medical appointment that may have saved my life. A routine physical revealed that my prostate was enlarged. Further tests showed I had prostate cancer. Now in the midst of treatment, I am sharing my experience so that other men will skip the stoicism and go see their doctors.
