Library magic begins here! ✨📖 Kim Nguyen, children’s librarian at Studio City Public Library, leads the highly attended Baby & Toddler Storytime at her branch and shares the impact that they have for building early literacy skills. Across the Los Angeles Public Library system, librarians delivered thousands of storytime programs reaching over 140,000+ participants, and through partnerships with community clinics, new parents received over 5600+ Read Baby Read early literacy kits. Luceros y Penumbras: The World’s Largest Pop-up Book is now officially home in the rotunda of Los Angeles Public Library’s Central Library, ready for public view starting tomorrow! 👏 Congratulations to Daniel González, Matthew Christian Reinhart, Todd Lerew, and Goodnight & Co. for this monumental feat!

When opened, the book measures approx. 31 x 20 ft, with pop-ups rising more than 11 feet tall. Weighing over 1,800 pounds, it is made entirely from the same materials used to produce traditional books, including paper, adhesive, and fabric. Stay tuned for more programs and page turning dates!
