Francis Center has provided relief and support to homeless and extremely low-income individuals and families in Los Angeles. Much more than a soup kitchen or a food pantry, we offer a unique range of services to sustain and empower those in need. St. Francis Center’s 6th Annual Blessing of the Animals was such a sweet day filled with blessings, fellowship, and plenty of adorable furry friends!

Make no mistake it was a hot one! But that didn’t stop our fearless crowd from showing up to make sure their beloved pets received the blessing they deserved.

And what a blessing it was! A total of 52 adorable animals including cats, dogs, a bunny, and even a turtle received a special blessing from Father Sebastian and St. Francis Center’s own Brother Victor.

Thank you to everyone who braved the heat and joined us for this special celebration. We’re already looking forward to next year!

As we commemorate the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Francis Center blesses the pets of our unhoused guests and joyfully joins the Franciscan Family in honoring a man whose simplicity, radical living of the Gospel, love for all creation, and joy in serving the poor continue to inspire people around the world.

In his spirit—and with the support of so many kind and generous people—we feed, serve, and walk with the poor as a community of hope.

May the example of St. Francis continue to inspire us to live simply, serve generously, recognize the dignity of every person we encounter, and cultivate a deep love for all creatures.

Join us Saturday, October 3, from 12:30–1:30 PM as we gather to celebrate and give a special blessing to our beloved furry family members from Brother Victor. ❤️

It’s going to be especially warm tomorrow, so please remember to bring plenty of water for your pets!

🐾 Blessing of the Animals is TOMORROW! 🐾

Saturday, October 3 | 1–2:30 p.m.

It’s going to be a hot one! Please remember that hot pavement and direct sun can cause burns to paws, skin, and other sensitive areas and especially for our furry friends.

Please bring plenty of water for your pet and have a plan to help keep them cool and comfortable. We’ll have canopies available for shade during the event.

We’re reaching out once again with a few items our neighbors need most. We’re currently collecting men’s, women’s and kids’ clothing, shoes, and hygiene kits.

We kindly ask that all donated clothing and shoes be new or gently used and ready to be shared with someone in need.

Margaret G. Graf is a force of nature. Truly.

From making PB&J sandwiches for our unhoused friends to serving as General Counsel for the largest Archdiocese in the United States, Marge does it all!

And now, she has another honor to add to the list.

Marge was recently awarded the prestigious Evangelii Gaudium (“The Joy of the Gospel”) Award by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in recognition of her outstanding service and dedication.

We couldn’t be prouder or more blessed to have Marge as part of the St. Francis Center family.

We’re so grateful to partner with Adopt A Family at the Cathedral again this Christmas!

This year, more than 40 precious St. Francis Center families have signed up to be adopted through the Adopt-A-Family program and will receive gifts wrapped in love.

Each year, Adopt-A-Family brings Christmas joy to hundreds of families in need, making the season a little brighter and more memorable.

Be sure to follow SFC on social media for a look at the gift delivery to St. Francis Center and the festive Christmas celebration where our families receive their gifts with hearts full of joy and gratitude.

Help Us Fill the Bowls!

As we get ready for our Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, October 3, from 1–2:30 p.m., we’re collecting pet food donations to help our furry friends in need!

Foo-Foo and all our beloved pet friends will be so grateful for your generosity.

Bring a bag of pet food to St. Francis Center Monday–Saturday, 7 a.m.–2:30 p.m., and help us make sure every pet has something to wag, purr, and celebrate about!

Thank you for helping us Serve Hope to our four-legged friends and their families!

Carlo Jimenez has been a dedicated St. Francis Center volunteer for more than 10 years and he’s a favorite among our guests!

Our guests know him for his kindness, warm personality, and willingness to serve with heart. What they may not know is that Carlo is also the radio announcer for the Los Angeles Clippers! Let’s go!
