Our Casa Esperanza youth are putting their creativity to work as they get ready for our upcoming Día de los Mu***os event! 💀🌼 They’ve been busy creating colorful calaveras from recycled milk jugs and crafting bird decorations out of cardboard.

We recently took community members to South LA to explore Metro’s new Rail to Rail Active Transportation Project, a first-of-its-kind project funded through the Safe Clean Water Program.

The 5.5-mile path connects neighborhoods, parks, schools, and local business corridors along the way. Designed for everyone, the path welcomes bikes, scooters, skateboards, strollers, and wheelchairs, while keeping motor vehicles off the route. Benches, shaded areas, landscaping, and water fountains make the path a space for the community to enjoy.

Our community had a great time experiencing the project in person and learning more about what it can bring to the neighborhoods it connects. We hope to see more projects like this that create accessible, welcoming spaces for communities across Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.

We had a special visit from DesiBoo Creations who teamed up with the Corita Art Center to lead a box tower mural workshop for our Casa community members! 🎨

Our community members got creative and brought their own designs to life, and their artwork will be showcased at Corita Day on November 7, 2026, from 12 to 4 PM at SCI-Arc, located at 350 Merrick St., Los Angeles.

Come see their artwork and celebrate Corita Day with us. We hope to see you there!

Another month, another morning spent caring for Blythe Street! 🧹

Our team and community members came together to give the neighborhood some TLC, from clearing litter and sweeping the street to reporting bulky items through . This month, we collected 261 pounds of trash, helping keep Blythe Street clean and welcoming for everyone.

From picking up trash and sweeping to reporting bulky items, we’re always inspired by the community coming together to take care of our neighborhood. This month, we collected 261 pounds of trash, even more than last month!

Another Everyone On cohort has officially wrapped! 🎉

Over the past several weeks, participants spent time building their digital skills, learning how to navigate computers and the internet, and becoming more comfortable using technology in their everyday lives.

We’re proud to celebrate everything they accomplished and grateful to and their instructor for creating a space where participants could learn, ask questions, and grow their confidence. Here’s to continuing to make digital tools and knowledge more accessible in our community! 💻

Mental health education is making its way to Casa Esperanza! Our community came together for the first session of “La Escuelita de Salud Mental” (Little School of Mental Health), a new pilot program from Mission Community Hospital focused on creating accessible spaces for mental health education.

The first session focused on stress, including how to recognize it, manage it, and support others who may be experiencing it. It was wonderful to see our community members engaged, asking questions, and learning together.

A special thank you to Mission Community Hospital , Dr. Kim, and everyone who came out to help make this first session possible. We’re excited to see La Escuelita de Salud Mental continue to grow at Casa Esperanza!

Our Community Inspectors at Casa Esperanza spent the morning helping clean up Blythe Street! Together, we picked up 284 pounds of trash, swept the sidewalks, and reported 26 bulky items through the app.

One of the best parts was seeing our efforts inspire neighbors to join in and help keep the neighborhood clean. Every cleanup makes a difference!
