Sunday, I attended the 2nd Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration hosted by Senator Lola Smallwood-Cuevas at Mary McLeod Bethune Middle School. 🌞🎶 Families enjoyed music, food, games, and free health screenings, while connecting with community leaders.
I had the honor of meeting with Senator Smallwood-Cuevas and Assemblymember Sade Elhawary—both champions for literacy and education. 📚💡 I look forward to partnering with them, along with Supervisor Holly Mitchell, to strengthen reading programs for students across our city. These 3 women are doing fantastic work for residents for the city of Los Angeles and beyond.
